We had the good fortune of connecting with Lillie Mae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lillie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After being laid off from my dream job in my early twenties, I was excited to begin my first entrepreneurial endeavor called “SIR Magazine”. It afforded me the opportunity to attend the MTV VMAs, BET Awards, Soul Train Awards, as well as interview many of my favorite celebrities. Thereafter I started my own agency, Lillie Mae PR as well as the Glambitious brand to help other women entrepreneurs thrive. (www.LillieMaePR.com | www.TheGlamCEO.com)

What should our readers know about your business?
Glambitious is a one-stop-shop for women entrepreneurs to access coaching, media opportunities, public relations support, educational ebooks, income-generating programs and event speaking opportunities to help them become highly visible and highly paid. I’m very proud that the Glambitious brand has connected with thousands of women around the world, from London to Egypt, to help them thrive as visionaries. The entrepreneurship journey has had many ups and downs, however I’ve continued to be resilient, creative and service-focused. I always advise other entrepreneurs to focus on serving others in excellence and opportunities will continue to emerge in their favor.

Having a strong spiritual foundation is also a great anchoring as an entrepreneur, so my brand also includes that element of support as well. For example, through the Glambitious club on clubhouse, we host devotional rooms of all facets to help women strengthen their spiritual journey. I want the world to know that I am a woman of faith, operating in my God-given purpose to inspire and empower success in others. I would love to connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs through my latest launch of “The Overflow Publicity Series” so that we can work together on making this season of business your best season of business! www.TheOverflowSeries.com

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami is definitely my favorite city in the US, so I would recommend a stay at the National hotel to anyone that plans on visiting. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful and their breakfast is awesome. Visiting the Wynwood Art District is a must, and has so many Instagram-worthy photo opportunities. I’d also suggest visiting Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, 8th Magic Mountain, Pharell’s restaurant Swan, Pilo’s Tequila Garden and Dreamer Miami.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout Charessa Sawyer of SC Visionary Services for providing dynamic support to my business efforts over the years.
