We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt Sahakian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Many people outside of the iGaming industry do not realize this, but it is a sector which can truly connect people on a global scale. It can act as a bridge between cultures and nations, and bring people together in the name of entertainment. From a business perspective, iGaming allows us to better understand the mindset of partners who come from different backgrounds and ergo to better comprehend the marketplaces they operate in. There are really no limits for what our industry can achieve.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up between Europe and Latin America gave me this multilingual and multicultural approach to people and business. During my childhood, it was sometimes hard to adapt to new cultures and languages, but that changed over time and now using interpersonal skills when it comes to connecting and developing businesses with partners from all around the world is what I would consider as one of my strengths. I remember closing a deal last summer in Bal Harbour Miami in French, and then heading to South Beach the next hour to close another deal, this with Brazilian businessmen expats. This is when I realized that it was worth making the effort and overcoming challenges. Today, our software acts as a bridge which connects people and businesses. That being said, we will always need international profiles to understand the right frequency to sell the solution in the best way possible to each new partner. Business expands naturally when you have this global vision and this multicultural approach, and this is also why I feel at home in Miami.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Armenia is one of the oldest countries in the world, and every inch of it is a historic marvel. Of course, a week would be too short, but I would definitely take them sightseeing at locations such as the Garni temple, the Areni caves and vineyards, the Tatev monastery, lake Sevan, and the Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide memorial. In terms of the cuisine, I would pick restaurants such as Katsin, Sherep, and Smoking Chef. A trip to the Noy or Ararat Brandy company is definitely a must as well, if they are fans of high quality and prestigious liquors!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Off the top of my head, I would surely like to mention Technamin’s founder and CEO, Suren Khachatryan. Suren is a visionary in our industry and has contributed his knowledge as well as his experience to helping many people succeed in iGaming. When I found out that he was the man behind Technamin, I knew for sure that I wanted to work with him. In many ways, he has acted as a mentor not just for myself, but also our entire team. I always find his abilities in unlocking the full potential of every employee so inspiring and motivating. Speaking of the team, I have to say that everyone I work with is an inspiration. Seeing their dedication and work ethic on a daily basis is what pushes me to move forward and excel in my own capabilities.
