We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt U Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt U, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I went after a creative career because I had the passion and drive for it from a very young age . And when you have that hunger to succeed in music and the arts it hard to deny .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I’m a recording artist and actor hailing from the big apple . But my career has taken me world wide and currently I live in El Paso . It was not an easy journey at all but my passion and support from my love ones have bought me through to this point . My biggest single to date is with the one and only legend Snoop Dogg , & Canadian sensation Karl Wolf it’s called “Pon Fire” who I created with long time singer/ Producer Audie Hewitt. I am currently building a media marketing brand named Inner Visions Media Marketing to give back and help artist creatives and business at large .

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well as you know I am a transplant to the area I live in now and have lived many places. So if your talking NYC I would definitely take them to them to the Jamaican restaurant Negril and the union square area . That’s where I spent a lot of time as a kid & teen . If we’re talking El Paso, Texas I would take them to scenic drive to see the awesome views of the city into Mexico 🇲🇽.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out would go to my parents for always supporting me in my music career and backing me up no matter what . And also to the people along my journey who helped me through .
