Meet Maya Rodríguez | Owner of Maya’s Place

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maya Rodríguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maya, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was always very spiritual since I was a child. I saw and felt things that were unexplained. I always felt like I could connect with people on another level and truly help by just being around. Living through many turmoils in my life like the war, I noticed that I was always being guided with love and placed in situation where I just needed to learn. As I moved through my life, I pursued a career and forgot about this spiritual connection that has been guiding me, but not for long. In my sales career i noticed I spent more time in soothing people and helping them through their emotional turmoils. I spent more time helping people rather then selling. Then I realized that’s when I feel the happiest and most like myself. That’s when I decided to pursue certifications and embellish my psychology degree in order to open my business. I realized my energy and my gift is what my purpose was. That’s how Maya’s Place came to be. Place of healing. Place for people to be heard and loved.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Maya’s Place is a place of deep healing. Where we meditate, use sound, light and reiki energy in order to heal and balance. We also heal the physical body along with psychological. It’s a place that encompasses love, accountability, and spirituality to align all the aspects of our body and emotions. My business is based on love. Pure genuine love. That’s my secret. I always believed in people and our own healing power that’s how I get where I am now. Honestly it was easy cause it was so guided. Lessons for me were to balance my personal life away from my business. Also to understand that my purpose is being me and nothing else. Not even my business just me. I want everyone to know that they are loved, they can improve their lives and feel the magic. They just need to open their hearts to love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beaches are amazing. I love key biscayne. Bayside and science museum. Wynwood.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All my mentors, friends, family and very aspect of my life. All puzzled together for this. Special thanks to my amazing Husband and daughter.
