Meet Mckenzie Corporal | Entrepreneur, Artist, Skater, Audio Engineer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mckenzie Corporal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mckenzie, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Deciding that there is no plan B and not being scared to take risk. I took stupid risk as a teen why not take those financial risk in bettering my situation and helping my brand grow. Also saying to myself don’t be satisficed reach for more

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I come from 2 cultures that’s similar. The skateboarding culture and Hip-Hop culture. I always wanted my own skateboarding brand to help the talented skaters I seen In Colombia reach their goals. So that is where I started the brand. Its all about emotions with my brand expressing your anger or ideas and with each graphic on our boards it shows the expression man of us go through. I was persistent at getting my brand out there in south America first before north America. I was not easy dealing with customs with my products but I found a way. All challenges i face I faced them 1 at a time and never being discourage. I learn a lot of things when it comes to running a business. But mostly I learn from the different cultures of people I encounter. Even though it was some language barrier, but one thing was universal the love of skateboarding and Hip-hop music. So I put both together which worked out great for my brand selling merch.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being from Miami I know some cool spots. Knowing my friends we are defiantly doing some outdoor sports & fun. Amelia Earhart park has the dopiest Wake Boarding obstacle and of course Lot 11 skatepark. Got to save some days for some Paint ball action and heading to K1 Speed for some go-karts. when it comes to food you cant come to Miami without trying some Haitian food. many places are great I tend to indulge at Caribbean Kitchen305 or my cousins business Rosey Kitchen. And if a friend wants something more Latin then Espanola Way on south beach is prefect.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
For my story its knowing my family has my back if I fall. Big shoutout to my girlfriend Yenedy that believed in me and allowed me to chase my dream while she hold down the house and now she is seeing the awards of her sacrifice and trust. I couldn’t create what I do without the help of my graphic designer Daniel aka MaverickEast and my Nigeran friend Pam (Callme_GGX). They brought out all my ideas and presented it perfectly. With my consistency I was able to reach many people who enjoy the brand and keep supporting the vision so I thank them as well
