Meet Melanie Boulerice | Registered Nurse Clinician & CEO of Nomadic Nurse Agency

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melanie Boulerice and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melanie, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
The best habit that has helped me succeed has been putting myself first. It sounds cliche but it has honestly been pivotal in my business and my life. It all started with diet, exercise, alone time, social time, listening to your intuition, setting boundaries, doing the good things, the hard things, and more. The more you put the quality time into yourself, you can build anything. Your mind, body, spirit needs to be in alignment for success to be in your grasp.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been a nurse for 10 years in Emergency Room/Trauma and Psychiatry. I dove right into the shark tank after nursing school and I knew that this was my home. I did 3 years of nursing school in CEGEP and 2 years on undergrad in Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at St-Francis Xavier University. I had to pass the Quebec licensing exam, which took me more than 1 try and I’m not ashamed to say it. This moment was a staple in the direction of my career and it inspired me to create a safe space for those who need guidance like I did. That was the beginning of my company Nomadic Nurse Agency.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Montreal is a beautiful city with such a modern yet old European twist. We are known for our food and the first place I would take them is to Farsides restaurant for great food with an old school hip hop vibe. We would go for drinks at bar George, High Tea at Roselys or the Ritz Carlton, catch the view at Mount Royal, go for a shisha at Rosana’s. I can go on!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate my success to my family. My mom, dad and brother have always been an immense support in my journey and have been around during the good and the bad.
