Meet Micaela Fellay | Art director and Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Micaela Fellay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Micaela, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
In my personal and professional life, risk has played a significant role in shaping who I am today. I’ve always believed in making decisions that may seem daunting at first but ultimately lead to growth. For instance, migrating to a new country in my mid-life with two young daughters was a substantial risk. Leaving everything behind required courage, but it also opened up new opportunities.
Starting a business in a different culture and market was another leap of faith. I faced numerous challenges, but each one taught me valuable lessons and reinforced my belief in perseverance. I’ve learned that risk is inherent in almost every aspect of life, but the key is to recognize the opportunities that come with it.
I always strive to move forward, regardless of the obstacles. By focusing on the potential for a better future, I’ve been able to turn risks into stepping stones for progress. Embracing risk has ultimately allowed me to create a life and career filled with possibilities.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art focuses on children and babies, capturing a bohemian and magical essence that invites viewers to a place of happy childhood memories and love for all things handmade. What sets me apart is my ability to blend these cultural influences, creating unique pieces that resonate with a diverse audience. I take pride in the stories behind each artwork, as they often reflect my personal experiences and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.
Getting to where I am today has been a challenging but rewarding process. It wasn’t easy; there were moments of doubt and obstacles that tested my resilience. However, I’ve always viewed challenges as opportunities for growth. Each setback has taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to my vision.
One of the most significant lessons I’ve learned is the power of community. Surrounding myself with supportive individuals has been instrumental in my journey. Their encouragement and feedback have helped me refine my craft and push beyond my limits.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d take them to enjoy a mix of local culture and adventure. We’d start with brunch at a cozy café and explore a nearby park. A visit to a local farmers’ market would be a must for fresh produce and local flavors. We’d also take a day trip to a charming town for hiking and local delicacies. Our itinerary would include museums, historic neighborhoods, and a relaxing spa day. Evenings would be filled with live music, rooftop cocktails, and farm-to-table dinners. Finally, we’d wrap up with a leisurely breakfast and a scenic viewpoint visit before they leave.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my success primarily to my daughters, who have been both my motivation and my teachers throughout this journey. Their support and curiosity inspire me every day to strive for more and to embrace new challenges.
In addition, I owe a heartfelt thanks to every piece of advice and training I’ve received along the way. Each one has been a stepping stone that has contributed to where I am today. I believe that everything adds up, and we are always in a process of continuous learning. This ongoing growth has been essential in shaping my path and achievements.
