We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Shatravka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted financial freedom, being my own boss, and owning something that was bigger than me.

I promised myself that one day when I got to a point where someone asked me how I did it, I wouldn’t give them some simple vague answer you read in all these motivational entrepreneur books and now here I am telling you this:

You need to want something bad enough. Write it down and look at it everyday. Try everything to get it. Then figure out which part of trying to do everything did you like the most/paid the most? Double down and start getting good at it. Surround yourself with good people. Find mentors. Spend your time wisely. Learn and constantly sharpen your skills. Build strong relationships. Find problems in that industry and solve them. Offer tremendous value. Take big risks. Niche down. Learn to say no. Grow deeper into that vertical.

The reality is, the process is that simple. The hardest part is actually doing it. What will take you to the next level is to stop reading all these books and watching motivational videos but to get off your ass and do it… every single day.

And initially nobody will listen to you. nobody will pay you. competition will be fierce. when you do get a paid gig it will be crumbs. and you will not be paid what you are worth for a while. But you need to keep going and doing more of it. There is no shortcut. You cannot cheat this process. You need set your ego aside, and keep going. Eventually things will start to click and all the vague general tips will make sense.

Once you get a taste of freedom you can’t go back.

What should our readers know about your business?
We started our business because we were so fed up with the lack of transparency in the creative world. All this fluff jargon on every page. Everything being over-complicated for no reason. Millions of services to choose from, being nickel and dimed for every little small thing, no expectations or knowing what the hell we were even getting. The whole process of getting pro media for yourself was a friggin mess and we wanted to change that.

That’s why we created Super Media Production. We wanted to make it stupid easy for real estate professionals to get their content without the headache! So how did we do it? We turned it into a shopping experience. Full transparency, upfront pricing, you knew what to expect. And getting your content was as easy as selecting from a dropdown menu and clicking a button.

And we took it a step further, cause we know how much it sucks being that agent who has to keep reposting the same old video over and over again cause that’s all you got. We made it so you never have to experience that again. Now you have the option to buy a bulk supply of marketing content from that production so you can constantly be posting new stuff, keep your listings fresh.

We also never liked contracts or monthly retainers. We know everybody has busy and slow months, so why stress people out when business is slow. That’s why we introduced STORE CREDIT which is essentially pre-paid production credit you can redeem with us whenever you want. It also creates a level of exclusivity since it starts at $2500.

We take pride in running a boutique production and offering dedicated service to our clients. Strong relationships are the most important thing in business. You need to create an incredible product and refine it everyday. The customer experience needs to be smooth, Amazon does a great job at doing this.

Has it been easy for us? absolutely not. nothing worth something is easy. You want the good life you better put in the work and fight for it. you will make sacrifices and lose people. But it’s okay. Every time you make a choice, ask yourself, is it part of the plan? If not, let it go, and stick to your gut.

What do I have to tell the world? No matter what it is, good or bad, you must take full responsibility of your circumstances. everything is in your head. You are a player of this time. It is your choice who you want to be. Go and take it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re coming down for a week deff find a place to stay in North Miami Beach. Flexible parking, less noise, fairly priced restaurants, not many tourist traps.

Deff rent a bike it’s the best way to get around and see the city first hand.

If you want to hit the beach, all of Miami Beach is good, BUT if you’re looking for an incredible beach deff go to SOUTH POINTE BEACH. Clear turquoise water, can walk like 50ft out into the ocean, beautiful people, beautiful views, calm waters, great experience.

Regarding food BIG PINK, Doggi’s Arepa Bar, La Sandwicherie, and Katana Sushi have consistently been good.

For shopping Aventura Mall has a lot of choose from. If you’re looking for an outdoor/food experience hit up Lincoln Road Mall.

If you looking for some outdoor fun, Haulover Park jet skis, Key Biscayne Park has some scenic stuff, and Trail Glades Shooting Range.

Don’t ask me about Downtown Miami, not for me, expensive, crowded, no parking, too much traffic.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It is not possible to name one specific person. Everybody in my life good or bad, thank you for fueling the fire that has helped us grow to where we are today, we truly cannot have done it without you.

But if I had to name some people, deff my mom and dad, as I get older I really start to appreciate everything they did for me as a kid. My mom introduced me to cameras and making internet money. My dad taught me the importance of work ethic and keeping your word.

My Babushka Volya believed in me from a young age, always told me one day I’ll be someone.

My wife, my partner, my super mamacita. When I proposed to her 6 years ago, I said “do you want to shoot with me in the gym” – she said yes, and has been my strongest supporter ever since. I don’t think I’d be the person I am today without her.

And of course my good friend Mikhail Mudrik for inviting us down to Miami which resulted in us totally relocating here (best decision ever). Also his time management and level of hustle has been inspiring.
