We had the good fortune of connecting with Michaela Antoinette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michaela, how does your business help the community?

As a mystic artist and visionary, my work will exist as a reminder to humanity that we are infinite beings. That infinite nature/energy is within all of us and everything that lives and passes through matter. To be conscious of the divine within leads to a deeper sense of gratitude and responsibility for our existence…an understanding that life is a soulful experience to be cherished. All of our circumstances, negative or positive are for us to gain wisdom, compassion, empathy and to practice unconditional love for ourselves and others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am a former Barrister and Attorney and a self-taught multi-disciplinary mystic artist and visionary. I pair my fine art paintings, installations and sculptures with augmented reality technology. I introduced this technique to Bermuda’s fine art community in 2019. Augmented Reality technology tells more of my story via movement and sound. It draws the viewer into a multisensory, immersive experience. In 2021, I had my debut solo exhibition at the Bermuda Society of Arts. I was also a recipient of a Government grant courtesy of the Bermuda Arts Council. My work has been collected both locally and internationally. I work in all sizes but I prefer to create larger scale works. In 2017, I had a spontaneous kundalini awakening after a long period of health issues surrounding a genetic connective tissue disorder called Marfan’s Syndrome. It was life changing and I share aspects of this phenomenon in my artistic practice. I explore various color themes, spirituality, religion, science, philosophy and the invisible realms of existence. I play with lighting and most of my pieces glow in the dark or under blacklight. Since childhood I was naturally drawn to using vivid colours to create vibrant drawings and paintings. Being born and raised in Bermuda, it serves as an inspiration for my color pallette. Art is freedom and my life long passion. I aim to leave my mark both locally and internationally with bold and unique artistic creations. I am currently working on ‘The Infinity Collection’ (part 2), I just launched ‘Art Drop Bermuda’ to assist professional artists and I have been commissioned by the Corporation of Hamilton to execute a public art sculpture which will be featured in Bermuda’s city of Hamilton enhanced with AI and AR technology.

Traditional eats- A local catch fish sandwich from The New Woodys Sports Bar & Restaurant, a ’round de world’ snowball from a (shaved ice) vendor. A refreshing freshly squeezed mango lemonade from Ashley’s Lemonade.

Drinks- Bermuda’s signature cocktails; Dark & Stormy featuring Gosling’s Black Seal Rum or a traditional Rum Swizzle at Swizzle Inn Pub & Restaurant

Visit- The crystal caves, Horseshoe Bay Beach, Glass Beach

Fun- Jet Skiing and Private Yacht Charters, live shows, Mini cruise on the Uber Vida

Hang Out- Elbow Beach,Cafe Lido Sea Breeze Lounge & Bar they host an awesome Live Band and there’s room for dancing.
