We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The single most important factor behind what I define as success has been finding the courage to trust myself, over and over and over again. By that I mean, trusting myself to step outside of what’s safe and easy and comfortable. Trusting myself to try new things, new ideas, new processes, new mediums and learning as I go. Trusting myself to continuously share who I am, and who I am evolving into with those who are also on the path of the sacred journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a professional, modern witch it’s been a long and winding path to get to this place on my sacred journey, to get to this place where I can proudly share that YES, I am a witch. YES, I am a weirdo. YES, I am a gifted healer. And YES, it is marvelous! There is nothing like the feeling of helping my clients to find clarity, confidence, and positive transformation.

I knew from a very early age that I was “different” from the other kids, and did my very best to try and hide my weirdness. To try and fit in so that I could safely belong. Well, that worked out about as well as you might suspect, it didn’t! I could only play “normal” for so long before the constraints of the status quo would become absolutely suffocating to me.

I was always looking for cracks in these societal structures (namely school, church, and the workforce) that would allow me to shine through in my own unique & creative ways. It wasn’t until 2015 that I finally launched The Blessings Butterfly, and even then I wasn’t entirely sure what it would develop into. What started as a vehicle for sharing my positive affirmations began to morph into holistic coaching and ultimately transformed into what it is today: Transformational Positivity & Magick for Modern Witches.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am lucky enough to live in South Orange County, Southern California with year-round access to fantastic weather, beautiful sandy beaches, incredibly varied landscapes, top-notch amusement parks and amazing food from all around the world. A week isn’t nearly long enough to explore it all! But if we only had 7 days together, here’s my top 5 must-see spots:

Iconic tour of Los Angeles & Hollywood (with a stop at The Green Man Store in NoHo for some witchy delights & maybe a class on spells!)

Made-to-order breakfast at my house before heading down to either Newport or Dana Point harbor where we can either rent a boat (or a yacht?) for the day, or cruise across the channel for a fun day at Catalina Island.

We’ll definitely want to splurge for dinner at Selanne Steak Tavern in Laguna Beach.

For a change of scenery, a visit to oh-so-fabulous & kitschy Palm Springs is a must!

If you’re into amusement parks, you can choose between Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Magic Mountain, Legoland, Sea World, or Universal Studios.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are SO MANY people, mentors, and supporters who have been pivotal in helping me get to this place, but at the top of that long list would be: my son, Joseph; my husband, Chad; my cousin, Nicole; and my parents, Bob & Norma (may they Rest In Peace). These five pillars have been my greatest teachers, supporters, and heroes.
