We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Liotta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Miami, Florida and I am of Cuban and Pakistani descent. Growing up in Miami it is inevitable that you learn to speak Spanish. I lived with my father who did not speak any Spanish and while I never had any formal training, I successfully taught it to myself. I learned by listening to others such as my mom, grandmother and any other Spanish only speaking person I was surrounded by. Fast forward to today, every 1-2 out of 5 clients are Latino. Learning Spanish at an early age has helped me facilitate these relationships and helped me grow my real estate career. In turn I have been able to help many latinos achieve the American dream! Se Habla Español !

What should our readers know about your business?
I have been working in real estate for approximately 20 years now. I first fell in love with real estate in 2002 while I was in college. It took some time for me to learn all the ins and outs of the business. Through trial and error and putting my clients first, I have grown my business into a successful team. I’m very responsive to all requests, which has helped me immensely in building my client list. Most of my deals are from word of mouth and repeat clients. With that said, I strive to take the stress out of the transaction. When you buy or sell real estate it tends to be a stressful event. I’m fortunate enough to have amazing staff that help facilitate everything. Between my staff and myself, we work diligently to make the process a little easier. It can be anywhere from making recommendations & setting appointments, to going the extra mile to obtain information and fulfill any client requests. Whatever it is, we make it happen !

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I was born in Miami and love the city because there is so much to do! From day to night in South Beach, Coconut Grove, Downtown Miami, Wynwood, The Wharf, Midtown and Bayside to museums and my favorite, pop up events! Pop up events are huge in the area now. My favorite event that I attended was the Van Gogh Interactive exhibit! For those who don’t know, it is an experience where you are submerged and surrounded by his art so you can experience it with all your senses! Super cool!

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is also a must, so beautiful! The museum is surrounded by many beautiful flowers and greenery. Perfect for pictures or special events.

Being a foodie, I love all the diverse food options that Miami has to offer. Some of my favorites are: Naiyara, Havana Harry’s, Ball & Chain, SugarCane, Los Ranchos and many many more delicious spots from all backgrounds! I’m always open to trying new ones!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a big shout out to my family for always being there for me through the good and the bad! They have always supported me no matter what comes up in life and work!!! They may not always have the right answers but they definitely know how to talk things through and listen. I’m fortunate to be blessed with such a loving & supporting family.
