Meet Mina Viale | Founder & Lead Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mina Viale and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
For me, the most important factor behind Bay Studio’s success is trust.
When a client chooses us, we enter into what I like to call a “design marriage” that can last for months. During that time, we make countless decisions together, share excitement, navigate challenges, and sometimes even negotiate compromises. Like any good marriage, it’s built on communication, transparency, and mutual respect.
By the end of the project, that marriage often transforms into a genuine friendship. We’ve been through a creative journey together, and the trust we’ve built along the way is something that lasts long after the final styling is done.
Of course, our international experience—working in cities like Kuala Lumpur, Miami, Rome, and Buenos Aires—gives us a unique perspective, allowing us to blend diverse design influences with a client’s personal story. But it’s that human connection, the mix of passion, precision, and care for the people we work with, that is at the heart of Bay Studio’s success.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bay Studio is all about creating spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful, tailored entirely to each client’s lifestyle.
My journey started while I was living in Kuala Lumpur during COVID. I couldn’t wait any longer for the right moment, my creativity was bursting, so I decided to study Interior Design remotely at a university in Australia. Since then, I never stopped pursuing my passion.
Working across different countries hasn’t always been easy, but trust, clear communication, and a problem-solving mindset have been key. What sets us apart is that nothing is ever cookie-cutter; every detail is intentional, and every design is a unique reflection of the client.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend visited Miami for a week, I’d mix design, culture, and coastal living. We’d start with coffee at Panther Coffee and art at Wynwood Walls, then shop and lunch at Mandolin Aegean Bistro in the Design District. A day in Key Biscayne for paddleboarding and Vizcaya Museum & Gardens adds nature and history. Evenings would mean cocktails at Sugar, dinner at Zuma, and maybe dancing at LIV. We’d explore Little Havana for Cuban coffee and music, and I’d share my favorite design showrooms for inspiration. It’s the perfect mix of Miami’s glamour, creativity, and laid-back vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my Shoutout to my husband (Tomás), son (Joaquín) and daughter (Felicitas) for their constant support and cheering. I also want to thank Eche and Ania Agardy, friends and mentors who guided me as I took my first interior design steps.
