We had the good fortune of connecting with Mojgan Styner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mojgan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business came not long after I got licensed as a real estate agent. At the time, I was also working in international business, and I found myself naturally drawn to clients who were relocating or investing from abroad, especially in Southwest Florida. Coming from a multicultural background myself, I just connected with them. I understood the stress, the unknowns, and how much trust it takes to make those kinds of decisions from afar.

Eventually, I realized I wanted more freedom, more control over how I served my clients. I didn’t want to just follow a script or fit into someone else’s model. I wanted to build a firm that reflected my values: integrity, transparency, and truly personalized service. For me, it’s not just about closing deals; it’s about building relationships and helping people feel confident and cared for through the entire process.

Starting my own business was a way to create something meaningful, not just for my clients, but for myself and the community I’m a part of. It allowed me to blend my background, my experience, and my values into something I’m really proud of

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ was raised and studied in Germany and came to the U.S. as an immigrant, which has deeply influenced my personal and professional journey.
Starting my own business as a woman and real estate broker here in Southwest Florida has been incredibly rewarding but also challenging. It wasn’t easy, building a new life and career in a new country required resilience, persistence, and a constant willingness to learn and adapt. Before moving to the U.S., I faced one of life’s greatest challenges—cancer. Surviving it gave me a new appreciation for opportunity, and when my family and I came to Southwest Florida, I was determined to start fresh and build something meaningful. Today, I’m proud to be a cancer survivor, a successful real estate broker, and someone who’s truly living the American Dream. Helping others find their dream homes in this beautiful part of the country isn’t just my job—it’s my passion.

What sets me apart is my strong commitment to growth and leadership. I have earned numerous certificates and designations that demonstrate my dedication to excellence in real estate. In 2024, I was honored to receive the Association President’s Award, a proud moment recognizing the impact I’ve made in our community. Additionally, I chaired the Global Business Council at our local board, where, together with my team, we earned national and statewide recognition for our work and initiatives.

Completing the Leadership Academy at our local board further strengthened my skills in leadership and service, which I apply daily to support my clients and colleagues. I named my company “Moonstone” because the moonstone symbolizes intuition, hope, and new beginnings—values that resonate deeply with me and reflect the journey my clients often experience when buying or selling a home. My goal is to guide them through these transitions with trust and clarity.

Most importantly I’ve always believed in the importance of giving back and sharing what I’ve learned. That’s why I joined our local Women’s Council chapter, where I found a strong community of supportive women. This year, I was honored to be elected First Vice President, which I see as a reflection of my commitment to leadership and service. To me, it shows that I never stop—never stop growing, contributing, and pushing forward to make a positive impact.

And yes, throughout this journey, I’ve come to understand the true value of patience, the power of building authentic relationships, and the importance of viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. I want the world to know that my brand stands for integrity, dedication, and empowerment. As an immigrant woman in business, I hope my story inspires others to chase their dreams relentlessly, no matter the obstacles they face.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d want to show them all the coolest spots around Cape Coral and Fort Myers, especially since I’m passionate about good food, music, dance, and art.

One of the things I truly love about Southwest Florida is the people. They’re friendly, welcoming, and have this laid-back, easygoing vibe that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The community here is tight knit but open to newcomers, with a real passion for supporting local artists, musicians, and chefs. Whether you’re chatting with someone at a farmers’ market, sharing a table at a food truck, or dancing at a local bar, you quickly realize how much people here love their culture and take pride in sharing it.

We’d kick things off in Cape Coral by hanging out at the waterfront and checking out Tarpon Point Marina. It’s one of my favorite spots, featuring great restaurants right on the water, lively bars, and sometimes even live music. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy amazing food, and maybe dance a little. Another must-see is Cape Harbor, with its cool marina vibe, fun eateries, bars, and stunning boats to admire while strolling along.

For a day trip, I’d take my friend to Matlacha, a tiny, colorful fishing village just a short drive away. It’s packed with quirky art galleries, funky shops, and incredible fresh seafood spots, known for its laid-back atmosphere and delicious meals right on the water. This place really captures the local artistic spirit and charm.

I’d also recommend visiting Punta Gorda, a bit further south. The historic downtown area there is beautiful, with lots of waterfront parks, charming shops, and fantastic restaurants. It’s a great spot to unwind, soak up some local art, and maybe catch live music in the evening.

Back in Fort Myers, we’d explore downtown, starting with the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, which features local art and live music. If the timing’s right, I’d take them to the First Friday art walk a lively street party filled with food trucks, music, and a great vibe for dancing. For food, we’d hit spots like The Veranda for Southern-style cuisine or The Barrel Room for cocktails and small plates.

A fun place to shop and hang out is the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers, an open-air shopping center with a mix of boutiques, restaurants, and entertainment options. It’s great for grabbing a bite, catching a movie, or just strolling around and soaking up the lively atmosphere.

If we’re in the mood for some serious shopping, I’d also take them to the Miramar Outlets nearby. It’s a fantastic spot for deals on brand-name stores and a perfect way to spend an afternoon browsing and maybe picking up some great finds.

We’d also make time for outdoor adventures, like kayaking through the mangroves or chilling at the beach.
To wrap up the trip, we’d visit some local galleries or art studios and enjoy a laid-back dinner at one of Tiki Bar & Grill restaurants for food, chill vibes, and a perfect way to end the week.

What really ties it all together for me is how the people here embrace life, they’re creative, passionate, and genuinely love to celebrate what makes Southwest Florida unique. That combination of amazing food, great music, beautiful art, and a welcoming community is what makes this area so special and why I’m proud to call it home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly, when I look back, the first thing I think about is my family, my parents and my precious husband.
Their constant love, encouragement, and belief in me have been the backbone of everything I’ve accomplished. They’ve supported me through every challenge and celebration, and I truly wouldn’t be here without them.

Beyond that, I’ve been so fortunate to have incredible mentors like Neal Oates Jr. and other instructors along the way. Their guidance helped me grow not only professionally but also personally. They taught me the importance of perseverance, integrity, and truly putting people first; values that have shaped how I approach this business every day.

And then, of course, my clients. Being trusted to guide someone through one of the most significant decisions of their lives is an honor I never take lightly. Helping people find a place to call home has been the most rewarding part of my career. it’s why I do what I do.

Overall, this journey has been full of learning and growth, and I’m grateful for everyone who’s been part of it. Their support has made all the difference, and I’m excited to keep evolving and serving my community in the years to come.
