We had the good fortune of connecting with Naeem Bacchus and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Naeem, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
We can tell a lot about a person by the habits they choose. Habits are a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up. Now are habits can be self serving or not. It is not our place to pass judgement on ones habits however it well known that certain habits elicit certain results.
For example if you create habits such as personal health and wealth through a coordinated effort and routine you can set yourself up for success. By continuously following through with habits that serve you anything is possible. Habits that I have practiced for the better part of the last decade have been that of my own personal health. Coming from the health fitness industry prior to cooking I made my activity and nutrition a priority.
By creating small habits of waking up early, getting a workout in, and eating a healthy first meal can really set the tone for a positive day. Habits such as silent sitting aka meditation or prayer is another one that has certainly helped propel me forward in large strides. Habits of not taking things personal, giving my self the time in space to determine how I want to respond to a given moment versus reacting has also been a great self serving habit. Habits can also hold you back so make sure you choose your habits wisely.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
NourishbyNemo is a whole food plant based meal delivery service in South Florida providing cruelty free meals for the local community. Educating and empowering the community through health and showing them that vegan can be delicious, nutritious and filling. Nourishing your mind, body, and soul start with what you put in to your body.
Building a network and community through my time as a coach has certainly helped by business create that foundation for us to build upon. Its never easy and when you have the right people and systems in place you would be surprised at what can get done.
Overcoming challenges is a part of any journey and the key is to keep showing up for yourself and your business because nobody else will. Times will get hard, your life will get affected and as long as you stay true to yourself, and your mission/vision good things will happen.
Plant based food isn’t just greens, salads, and “rabbit food”. Theres a plethora of ways to nourish your body with plants and it is important to remember that Whole Foods should be the majority of our diet meaning as little processed as possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Breakfast at Aguacate Sanctuary of Love. There are endless classes for healing such as meditation, yoga and breath work. They offer the best plant based foods in southwest Miami also serving juices, smoothies, açaí bowls and coffees. Be sure to feed the animals at the sanctuary before you leave so you can see why they do what they do.
For lunch if its a Saturday I would then hit up the Coconut Grove Farmers Market where you can find a wide variety of amazing plant based food options from local small business’s. My favorite is the Crunch Wrap from JDsVegMex.
For a slightly more fine dining experience you can finish of the evening in Coconut Grove at Planta for an exquisite view an dinner. Salt and Straw is right around the corner for a lovely ice cream dessert who also serve plant based options you don’t want to miss.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out all my friends and family who have supported me a long the way. My tribe has helped given me the confidence to really project myself forward and out into the world not only supporting me through my wins but also my losses. Ive worked with a few personal development coaches in Angie Sanchez and Rob Reynosa who helped me level up tremendously after my time at the University of Miami. A few books that really changed how I show up in the world are “the four agreements” “how to win friends & influence them” “feelings buried alive never die” .
