Meet Natalie Ruiz | Makeup artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Ruiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my successes being consistent and staying true to myself. Being humble, genuine, and professional in your business is so important. Creating relationships that are long lasting help your business grow and evolve. Networking has helped my business become successful especially in the beauty industry social media is a tool that helps you network and market your business. It has been an amazing journey as a makeup artist and seeing the growth since I started I am so happy I chose this career path that is evolving everyday.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love the artistry I am in and making people feel confident and beautiful. What sets me apart is the experience I provide for my clients they really never forget there makeup experience and create a bond with them. I am still growing as an artist and practicing my craft because it isn’t perfect ,but the best thing I know is that the industry is constantly changing so yesterday’s glam trend isn’t today’s glam’s trend. It was not easy to be where I am at it takes so much patience and dedication ,but I’m super grateful for the people around me who support me because it keeps me going and seeing my work makes me fall more in love with the artistry and keep going. I come across many challenges and the key is to work through it and not let it stop you and just remember why I started in the first place and why I love the artistry so much. I’ve learned so many lessons along the way one thing I picked up is you have to be the go-getter nothing handed to you it’s not as easy as it looks. I want the world to know that my art is the way I express myself and it’s my happy place creating makeup looks everyday it bring me joy and having this as my job doesn’t feel like a job because how passionate I am. I’m grateful I found this passion of mine. .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take my friend to Wynwood in Miami I feel like there so much to do there in the daytime and night time. I would take her to eat tacos in Coyo Tacos then to the marketplace in Wynwood. The nightlife there are so many options to choose from in the area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I’m at without the support of my mom and family. Since the first day I started this career it’s been nonstop support and motivation. I have come across amazing artist throughout my career that I still till this very day have an amazing relationship with and can’t thank them enough for sharing there amazing tips and advice.
