We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Jean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natasha, what principle do you value most?
One principle that I have latched onto in my creative ventures is the idea of “failure”, and how it is portrayed in society. I used to think that everything had to be “perfect” and I’ve learned that everything really is a lesson. Always a way to better yourself and improve. The things that you can take from something that did not go your way is endless. The possibilities themselves are endless. I feel as though allowing myself to experience these failures with a different perspective has allowed me to flourish in ways I didn’t even realize was possible. I take this on with great pride and truly allow myself to have patience with the process and with the growth. Everyday we are always learning something new about the world and ourselves. So remembering that everything is a lesson keeps me going and is something I have to affirm with myself everyday. This allows me to be the best version of myself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a visual artist, so I create pieces based off of things that I see. Many of these pieces are inspired by seeing one thing and I usually find other things that are inspired by that piece and kind of collage them together. I do the same with color. Color for me is so very expressive. The colors I use I intentionally want them to speak to eachother, to mesh fluidly. I would describe my artistic style as flow. When I create I am sure to keep myself in a state of bliss, hapiness, joy and then I FLOW. I am very excited about where I am mentally with my art. I really have more confidence than I ever have had. It reminds me of when I was in middle school just starting the art program. This is what really got me started as an artist, and led me to where I am professionally. I’ll admit that it wasn’t easy but the journey was fun, figuring out my style, who I was as a person and as an artist. The challenges were being consistent and dedicating my time and energy to creating, while, not allowing myself to be in my head too much. Once I came to the realization of my value as an artist and saw what was capable of, it was that turning point that allowed me to recognize that it really is not about perfection. Its about cultivating and nurting myself mentally in my craft. That way I can be at the best level of performance. I want the world to know that ambitious images is about creation itself. How raw and pure that energy is and how important it is to go after what you want and nurture it with every part of you. It will grow into something you could’ve never even imagined. Stay the course and believe in what you are doing!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definetly take her to my favorite vegan spot in Miami. It’s called Taula Fresh Cut Mediterranean Food and when I tell you its good it’s so good. I had an eggplant burrito and it tasted like meat. I had to keep checking to make sure there wasn’t any meat in it. It was that bomb. I’d def go for drinks and dinner at Texas De Brazil, they never dissapoint I mean like ever and their drinks are so fresh! Water activities is a must, a nice cruise on a boat or even jet ski’s sounds like a plan. Lastly to end everything off a nice spa day with massages and hot stones, would round it all off. One of my favorite things to do too which is so much fun is going to museums. I get to see and feel people’s creativity while also diving into the perspectives of others. Wynwood walls is one my absoloute favs, there is so much beauty and inspiration it’s insane! There are so many awesome people to meet and connect with.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to all of my family and friends for reminding me of my talents! Lynda, Moesha, Wilgens, Dawson, My mom and so many more people, even you all on my social media all of that, especially if you took the time to read this. I genuinely appreciate all of you guys.
