We had the good fortune of connecting with Netta-Ann Twito and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Netta-Ann, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Let’s just say, the real estate business is always evolving. The technology, the style of buyers, the market and the agent all evolve continuously. That being said, when I first got into this business I was non stop all day everyday. In real estate you need to be out there, meeting people, showing properties to get seen and hired. Once I became a seasoned agent, my follow up and diligence paid off and created a funnel of clientele that keep coming back and referring more people, thank Gd. Overtime I learned to get out of “office” mode and explore the outdoors, recharge and be with my family. I also learned that in this business you can still sit on the beach and negotiate a deal. You don’t have to be behind a desk to get clientele. And in this day and age, our phones are our mobile offices. If I’m not out exploring the areas I sell, how can I meet new business? The more seasoned you get, the easier it is to manipulate your time to create a more balanced lifestyle and network while enjoying life. I love that being a realtor also gives me the flexibility to make my own hours and times for both work and play or sometimes both.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The best way to describe what I do is “I sell paradise for a living!” We all know how hot the South Florida real estate market is and has been for years. Miami and the South Florida area have always been a hot spot for relocations. This is what sets me apart, I help buyers focus on the lifestyle they’re buying. Not just the property, but the area, the history, all the fun activities Florida lifestyle has to offer. And I assist sellers in navigating through a crazy market that’s always evolving and relocating to other areas with ease and speed. Being a realtor is hard work, you’re 50% sales and 50% motivational speaker/therapist (whatever your client needs) it takes time to come to a point in your business that you feel confident that everything your doing is best for your client. Customer service is no joke, and when it comes to homes it’s a lot more personal. What I’ve learned the most in this business is be loyal to your customers and they’ll be loyal to you. I hope that when someone works with me they leave with satisfaction that I’ve done everything to get the job done.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
