We had the good fortune of connecting with Nichola DePass and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nichola, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is to acknowledge and remember that I didn’t arrive to this point alone. You are only as successful as the team of people you surround yourself with. The culture that I have cultivated is one of empowerment and positivity. As an Interior Designer in the construction world, the industry is very face paced, stressful due to many moving parts and time constraints. Empowering those around me and keeping a positive and progressive thought process helps exponentially to counteract the challenges.
What should our readers know about your business?
As a very young firm/brand, I believe that what sets us apart from other is how you step into the game. I have never been a follower or someone to follow the masses. I march to the beat of my own drum and the most important thing to me are the people that hear the beat and chose to stand by my side. The road to success is never an easy road. No short cuts, extremely hard work, accepting every failure and standing again without defeat and lastly remembering the journey and all those who helped you to arrive at present. Challenges are inevitable. Your mindset is what sets you apart from everyone else. I have made mistakes business wise and personally, but not once did I ever accept defeat. I respect failure because it is in that place where you learn the most in order to stand much stronger. My brand is very important to me because, yes it is an extension of my personality and I would like to use it to help as many people as I am able to. As an Interior Designer, creating spaces that brings joy to our clients, Jewelry Designer that reminds the wearer of how beautiful they are, Fashion Designer who loves the elegance of the 50s and finally the brand that rises while pulling so many people from each industry upward with it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Based in South Florida there are so many places it would take 50 pages in this interview, a few months of touring and many cocktails to get through such a visit!! LOLOL! On the very short list though, I would immediately start with the classics.
Tour: Art Deco Miami tour Wynwood Art District A run to Key West
Lunch: Joe’s Stone Crab Smith & Wolinsky Perricones Harry’s Pizza Kaluz
Dinner: Komodo Casa D’ Angelo FTL & Aventura Swan
A little extra: Faena Eleven Liv
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There a number of people that deserve recognition along my journey, but key persons are… Marco Penze: A friend and business owner as well who has an incredible amount of drive, goal setter and achiever. His influence has been the catalyst for me to just go for it all and never look back. Luiz Penze: A friend who is incredibly talented and he is the person behind my branding both for Nichola Francesca LLC and Nichola Francesca Couture. Virginia Diaz: A friend, my special ops and right hand. Her positivity and astute attention to details are a very important part of what Virginia and I are building. Branstan Clarke: A friend/brotherly figure who has also been successful in business and has taught me quite a lot on this journey.
