We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Tuesta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicholas, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I have always felt out of the ordinary. I’ve felt as though I don’t really have a place in this world. Expressing myself has always been a challenge and thankfully I found the perfect outlet, music. I want to be able to help others the way music has helped me in some of my darkest moments. This is how I’m able to express myself to the fullest. I hope to inspire others to do so as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a local Miami band of 4 with a diverse discography full of energy and emotion. We aren’t your typical alternative band. We focus on getting people to really feel our music. Although our songs can differentiate from one another, there always remains what we like to refer to as “that feeling”. Almost like a punch to the gut or a full fledged attack to the soul. I wish I could put us into more words but it’s just something that must be experienced. It’s tough to put on a genre on us. we just sound like us. We are V!vid.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are many spots around here that are hidden gems. In terms of stuffing your face, some of my favorites that I would recommend are All Star Pizza, 1821 sandwich shop, ZRamen, Fujiya, Milly’s Empanadas, PhoTastic, and Chifa Du Kang. I’m not much of a party person so I couldn’t recommend any clubs cause I haven’t been to any. You can visit the many malls that we have such as Dadeland mall, Aventura Mall, Sawgrass Mills (Broward county), Dolphin Mall, Bayside Marketplace. I’m more of a “lets go jam somewhere” type of guy and I know just the place for that, Vice City Kava. There are some cool bars where local bands such as us play at like Kill your idol, Poorhouse, Magic 13, Eddie’s Place and The Sandbar.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout the rest of the band, Rene Garcia (drummer), Bryam Morales (guitar and synth), and Sophia Navarro (rhythm guitar). I wouldn’t be able to do it without them. They all pour their souls out into these songs and have been there every step of the way. Although we are still a baby band, we feel as if though we have gone through so much together. Our songs are pure feel and I have them to thank for that.
