We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Wucher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nick, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our whole business model is based off of community. Connecting creatives and collaborating with other brands/individuals is something I genuinely enjoy.
From working with graphic designers on a collection, giving local DJs an opportunity to perform at events, having comedians do a set at our comedy shows or interviewing guests on our podcast – the list goes on. With everything intermingling, YIFNO has turned into a creative ecosystem.
We pride ourselves on giving back, working alongside different charities and being a part of The Gyerard Reid Foundation which provides support for South Florida’s underprivileged youth. We also work very closely with Angeles Unidos en Accion (Angels United in Action) by building water towers and providing supplies to poverty-stricken villages in Peru.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
YIFNO started from a word we made up and has blossomed into an umbrella company with multiple creative branches growing from it. Even so, we’re not close to where we want to be and where we will be. I’m proud of where we are and the direction we’re going as a brand.
Creative entrepreneurship isn’t built for everyone, the odds are usually stacked against you. It’s definitely not always easy, but you also do not need to make it extremely difficult. It’s a simple formula: consistency + persistence. With that, overtime you will see the results. I constantly remind myself of this.
YIFNO is not just an acronym (Yo it’s freaking nice out) but also a lifestyle… We use the phrase “go outside” in the literal and figurative sense. Go enjoy a beautiful day outside, grab a drink at the beach, go for a run, whatever gets you going – Step outside of your comfort zone, try different things, start that business, meet new people, work on that design, create new experiences and bring your ideas to life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The beach and Flanigans are non-negotiable.
We have to go to Sneaker Lovers to get our fits right for the week.
We’re going out and doing the following: going to a comedy show or checking out some local DJs at 27 bar & lounge (depending on the night), calling Santi from Daer and hitting the day club, SLS Hyde Beach Londos will get us situated there, and make our way to Freehold then bar hopping around Wynwood.
To fuel us and/or cure our hangover we’re going to Flanigan’s, Chima, Big Cheese, Enriqueta’s and Moon Thai.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out both my parents, watching my single mother start her own business from nothing to one of the best interior designers in the country has been nothing short of an inspiration. My father for always providing no matter how difficult of times we faced and teaching me to stand on my values in all situations.
My little brother Jacob for giving me a different perspective on ideas and keeping me in check. Tony, Co-founder of YIFNO, for helping lay the foundation and sparking the idea of what we have now. Austin Hyduke for creative consulting and mentorship.
All my loved ones, supporters and community, for showing up and engaging in any projects/events/endeavors we’ve ever had. The brand is only as good as the people who support it.
Long Live G.
