We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole a.k.a Naomi Sky and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I love music, and I’ve always loved singing, songwriting, and creating since I was a little girl. I’ve been releasing original music and creating a career for myself in the music industry since I was 18. I’ve also always loved to learn and grow. And as I embarked on a spiritual journey in high school and college, my spirituality and my artistry became more intertwined. This is part of what sparked my idea for creating my own business: combining all of my passions into one space! I created my business, Naomi Sky LLC, with the intention and hope of inspiring others to believe in the Love, Joy, & Infinite possibilities in the Universe. Naomi Sky is my performing and recording Artist/Stage name. I chose that name because Naomi means pleasant and gentle, which reminds me of Joy and nurturing, feminine energy; and Sky is symbolic of all the infinite possibilities to me, like the infinite number of stars in our sky! As a trained and certified Reiki Practitioner, and also a trained and certified Intuitive Life Coach, I guide individuals to connect to the Love in their hearts, connect to their own Intuition, and cultivate Balance and Joy in their lives.
 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Naomi Sky Life is my life coaching business and brand. The name, Naomi Sky Life, inspires the belief of a joyful life filled with infinite possibilities. My goal as a Life Coach is to guide people to experience more Joy in their daily lives through focusing on 3 values: Love, Intuition, and Balance. In this offer, I guide clients to connect to the feeling of Love and their own Intuition through guided meditations, journal prompts, and open conversations about what they desire in life. And then, I guide them on how to create more Balance in their life, so they can do more of what brings them Joy! As a Reiki Practitioner, I also offer distance Reiki healing sessions, which helps to heal my clients and cleanse their energy. Through this service, I provide clients with healing for the mind, body, heart, and soul. At the end of every session, I share any guidance I received for the client from their spirit guides. I believe we can experience more Joy every day by looking at life with a lens of Love. And my goal is to assist and guide my clients in creating and Living a Life they LOVE!

I started my business because of my desire and passion for helping others! I love writing and creating music, but I’ve also always loved working with individuals. I’ve always been the friend people go to for advice, and I’ve wanted to become a Life Coach since I learned about it in college. Previously, I thought I would focus on my music career first, and then transition into Life Coaching. However, as my artistry, my music, and my spirituality all became more intertwined, it felt in alignment to become certified & trained as a Spiritual, Intuitive Life Coach and a Reiki Practitioner.

The biggest challenge I encountered was some people advising me to focus on one thing, one path, one career. I was advised to create separate Instagram accounts: one for life coaching and one for music, but that didn’t feel right to me. I love music and spirituality! Both passions are part of what makes me “me”! My spirituality inspires my music, and my music fuels my appreciation for the magic in life and my spiritual beliefs. Now, my life coaching business feeds the part of me that loves guiding others in all areas of life, including their spiritual journey, and my music continues to fuel my desire for creativity and self expression. Once I realized how connected music and spirituality are for me, it felt right to combine them both into one business. I am infinitely grateful for the support from my boyfriend, my parents, my sister, my mentors, my friends, and my whole family. Having a support team of people who believe in me adds to the belief and confidence I have in myself and my big goals and dreams. I hope when the world reads my story and learns about my business, they feel inspired to believe in themselves, to look for the magic in our world, to appreciate logic, and go create and achieve their goals and their dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My top favorite spots that I would plan for us to explore in Miami are Miami Beach (When you’re in Miami, you’ve gotta have at least one beach day! 🙂 ), Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine for dinner one night, a day exploring the shops around Miami Beach, Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, Wynwood Walls, Coconut Grove, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and the University of Miami campus (my alma mater)!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Cassandra Claude, my mentor and voice teacher, is the person I’d love to “shoutout” and credit today! She has been inspiring me since my first month of voice lessons with her. I credit her for being a HUGE part of the reason I continue to write and record original music today. Cassandra is also someone who I have been able to share epiphanies with that connect my spirituality and my artistry. She encourages me to be authentic, and continues to encourage me to think outside the box. So many people might give advice to a young college student that sounds like this, “Pick one thing to focus on!” or “You can’t do multiple things at one in your career”. Cassandra is a grounded voice who continues to encourage me to expand in all the ways my heart desires. Having a mentor who believes in my vision as an artist and also now as an entrepreneur and business owner is one of my keys to continuously believing in my own goals and my big dreams.
