We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Bauman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, how do you think about risk?
I generally take risks based on if that risk has a positive benefit to my career or life. I think if you’re not taking risks you’re not growing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a hair and makeup artist, I enjoy all medias of makeup and hair but my favorite is creatures and color. Anytime I’m doing hair, throwing a rainbow or a neon UV activated color or making a monster or a deadly glamour makeup look is my forte. I got to where I am today by simply being myself, enjoying the ride of this crazy roller coaster. It is definitely not easy but with life comes lessons and I’d say I have learned a lot so far. One thing I’ve learned along the way is to not take anyones crap and be yourself, I am a well rounded artist known as The Nicko Effect, because that’s what I like to give people, my effect. ❤️

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am local to Fort Lauderdale and normally would be downtown there some places for good food, drinks and fun are Glitch Bar, Poke Ramen and Parlour Vegan Bakery. Disney or Universal are a must for me, I enjoy a good thrill and is always a fun time with friends.
Also, the museums are pretty amazing here too. I enjoy history and art history so traveling to see these is not everyone’s idea of fun but I certainly enjoy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The list would go on and on if I could shout out everyone who has positively impacted my life. My family, for one keeps me going. But I would like to shoutout my salon home, Salon Mixx, I truly wouldn’t be where I’m at now in my career without the help of my salon now. You’re allowed to be your true self, unapologetically. I feel it’s important to surround yourself with others who constantly inspire you, and lift you up.
