We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Loiten and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to have the flexibility and freedom in how I spend my time. I felt very limited being an employee and I knew that deep down I had more to offer to the world. I wanted to make a greater impact in the world. I did not want to be confined to a box that was set up for me in Corporate America.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My husband and I operate one of the fastest growing nurse registries in South Florida. We currently have offices in Palm Beach county, Broward county and Miami. We started almost 5 years ago when we realized that there was so much more that could be contributed to the home health industry. Having a nursing background and my husband being a Business Analyst, it was easy to combine our skills to take our business to the next level. What sets us apart from the others is that we are very responsive to the needs of our clients and we always make sure to exceed their expectations. I am proud of the fact that over the last 4 and a half years, we have impacted the lives of hundreds of people by providing employment and helping others to achieve optimum health. It was not easy to get to where we are now, it took a lot of sacrifice and hardwork. One of the greatest things we did was to remain consistent even against the odds. It was easy to do that because of our faith in God. One of the greatest lessons, I have learned along the way is to just start. Many times we fail to accomplish great things because we didn’t take the first step. Even when you don’t see a clear path, just start. If you remain persistent, eventually the path becomes clearer and clearer. At the end of the day, I want the world to know that if God gave you an idea or put a dream in your heart, don’t allow anything or anyone to stop you from pursuing it. Don’t leave this earth without accomplishing all that you can. because you only get one chance.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the beach. We would go to church. Since I’m a foodie, we would hang out at some of my favorite vegan/vegetarian restaurants.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother Andrea Scott. She has taught me what it looks like to be a risk taker. She was never limited by her current circumstance. She was my first example of what faith looks like and I will forever be grateful.
