Meet Nicole Perry | Intimacy Choreographer/Coordinator, Dance Educator, & Founder of Momentum Stage

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Perry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what matters most to you?
Integration. Which has the same root as integrity. To me, this means a couple of things: 1. That all facets of my life support each other- my personal life and my work, my work in dance and my work in theatre, my work with Momentum and my work as an educator, etc. 2. That the spaces I am in allow for my whole self, and that the spaces that I hold allow others to bring their whole selves. 3. That doing what is right is better than doing what is easy, or what is right for only me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being an Intimacy Choreographer/Coordinator is not an easy road. I’m currently approaching 200hrs of training on my way to certification. But the work is so rewarding- creating great art, collaborating with actors, directors, dancers, choreographers, and really helping to create more professional and ethical working environments.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The beach! But also, Marumi’s on Sunrise in Plantation is simply the best food. Parlour Vegan is also fantastic. I love art museums, and I feel like South Florida’s do not get enough attention! Maybe a tour from Palm Beach to Miami visiting them all!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been reading SO much lately and I have to say- “Hood Feminism” by Mikki Kendall and “Entitled” by Kate Manne are must-reads!
