We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Plunkett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what inspires you?
Heart Evangelista, a Filipina influencer, philanthropist, and first lady of the Sorsogon province, is my inspiration. Her creative eye for interior design, passion for animal welfare through fostering rescue animals, and kind heart through charitable acts for her community inspire me to be a better person.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Growing up in both Japan & America, I believe that having a multicultural background equips you with both an open mind and an embracement of diversity. While any career will have highs and lows, I have learned to take it one day at a time, especially during periods of uncertainty and change. What sets me apart in digital marketing is my specialization in fashion, luxury, medical cannabis, and animal rescue. Currently, I am most proud of the time and energy I have spent learning about climate change, most recently through attending the Stanford GSB Climate, Business, & Innovation Summit. I hope to take this newfound knowledge along with me on my career journey to positively impact and preserve the environment and animals for future generations to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Brickell is hands down my all-time favorite spot in Miami, where one can wander amidst the beautiful weather and fit local residents either walking their dogs or pushing their strollers. This quaint district is filled with little cafes and a gorgeous outdoor shopping mall called Brickell City Center. After dusting off with a touch of SPF, I love walking my dog along Brickell Key to soak up the salty ocean breeze while sipping a soy chai from Puroast Coffee. For drinks, I highly recommend the East Hotel rooftop, or Casa Tua Cucina.

Wynwood, an artsy district covered in graffiti art, is home to one of my favorite eateries called Charly’s Vegan Tacos. I highly recommend their nachos. Every time I go, I have one bite, and suddenly they disappear like magic.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to the Forté Foundation: a nonprofit organization that provides women equal access to business education, professional networks, and leadership training for the purpose of advancing women in business. Without this community of female support, I would not be where I am today.
