We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Reichenbach and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At first it was definitely daunting starting up my own business. Mostly I was extremely excited to begin the new venture of a self-run business. Essentially the time and effort put into the business affects the outcome, so I knew it would be a lot of work and time, but now looking back, I am so proud of how far I have come and the support I have from friends and family.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a degree in fashion and I thank my professors for showing me that the creative side and business side can coexist to create art as well as run a successful business. I believe you should have a passion for your career, and I am thankful that I can have this career producing designs and doing what I love. I have learned also that it is valuable to make connections and retain those connections as a businesswoman. I love the professional friends I have made and have also started a side job of working for two of those friends as a design relations team member for their fashion show production company. I have faced some challenges along the way, but without the support of clients and friends, I truly don’t think I would be where I am today.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live near Charlotte, but grew up near New York City. Nothing compares to NYC, but I have learned that Charlotte definitely has it’s own unique places to visit. There are museums to visit and fun parks in the area. The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Mint Museum Uptown are both worth the time to visit. I especially like the SouthPark shopping area as well and love to visit the parks by the Lake Norman Area as well.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My two daughters inspire me daily. They are the backbone to the company because I believe without their love and support, and sometimes critique, I wouldn’t be where I am. They push me daily to improve my brand recognition and my designs. They both also have designed some garments and have modeled in all shows and photo shoots that my brand is represented in.
