We had the good fortune of connecting with Nour and Mahmoud and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nour and Mahmoud, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I think for us, just like for any parent out there, balance doesn’t exist lol. Each day has its own vibe and we just go with the flow. We got married, had a baby and started a business all in a span of 3 years! So ever since then we have been trying to juggle work, home, baby, and also time for us just to recharge. I think the less we thinking about trying to perfect our timing or balance in anything, the better we feel and more chill we are.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always loved coffee and have worked in the food and beverage industry for years. Opening a coffee shop has always been a dream of mine! After getting married and having our daughter Sophia, we decided to create a mobile coffee shop as a start. The perfect business model for a family that’s starting out their lives! Sophia’s Cup is a specialty coffee cart catering to all types of events. We do birthdays, corporate events, weddings, brunches, anything you name it! Getting here was definitely not easy. There were lots of ups and downs. The best part is seeing people enjoying our drinks and getting positive feedback from them. I’m super proud of our brand name and identity. Having our daughter Sophia’s name on the cart is what pushes me everyday.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re from Boca, but I would definitely take them down to Miami. That’s where we go usually on the weekends. So i would take them to 1800 Lucky in Wynwood, it’s an Asian food hall and they have different djs there all the time. Versailles for cortaditos and tres leches. Head down to South beach and grab a city bike and ride to South Point Park then back to Puerto Sagua for Cuban food. Brickell city centre for people watching and shopping.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give my shoutout to my husband, Mahmoud. He’s my partner in life and in business. He’s the one that pushed me to pursue my dream and the one that’s helping me achieve it. Together, I feel like we make a great team (besides the obvious business bickering) and I just love working alongside him!
