Hi Oleksandra “Sasha”, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
This is not really my own business, I technically work for the mortgage bank but my position is “like my own business”
“Embarking on a career in the mortgage industry felt like starting my own business within the framework of a reputable financial institution. My transition was underpinned by a strong desire to channel my entrepreneurial drive into a field where I could help individuals realize their dreams of homeownership.
In my seven years as an indoor entertainment center owner, I developed a keen understanding of customer service, operational intricacies, and the importance of staying attuned to market dynamics. This background laid a solid foundation for my role in the mortgage sector, where I see my position as akin to running a business within the larger framework of a mortgage bank.
The decision to pivot to the mortgage industry was fueled by the prospect of playing a crucial role in a significant life milestone for individuals, similar to the sense of ownership I felt with my previous venture. I recognized that my entrepreneurial skills could be harnessed in a new context, where I could make a positive impact on clients’ lives while contributing to the success of the bank.
In this “business within a business” mindset, I approached the transition by meticulously evaluating my skill set, adapting my knowledge base, and seeking mentorship from seasoned professionals in the mortgage field.
