We had the good fortune of connecting with Parks Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Parks, what do you attribute your success to?
My passion for real estate stems from my interests in market research, architecture, and interior design. What makes a property special? What is important to the seller? What is important to the buyer? What are the unknowns and what will be uncovered along the journey? These are issues that stoke the passion within me.
Transparency is important in this business both legally and ethically. I follow the law to protect my customers’ best interests and I work and live by the Golden Rule. That’s evident in every aspect of my life.
Empathy plays a roll because residential real estate isn’t simply a business transaction. For most customers, selling or purchasing a home or condominium it is personal. There’s a personal connection to the property. Sellers’ memories are attached to the property for sale as well as buyers’ hopes and dreams. There are many moving parts to a real estate transaction and it’s my job to manage those and things do go wrong from time to time. While steering the transaction along the course, it is important to be empathetic to all those involved.
What should our readers know about your business?
The real estate business in South Florida is fluid. It’s influenced not only by world markets but also South Florida’s rich and diverse international population. Styles, cultures and business practices from Buenos Aires to Moscow and most points in between can be found in our market. Adapting, learning and being open to these different flavors keeps this business fresh for me. “Pivot” is a watchword made popular by the Covid pandemic but it’s not new to me. I’ve been pivoting in South Florida real estate since 2003.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s so much that makes our region special and I like guest to see it all. From South Beach, to Wynwood. From Little Havana to Worth Avenue. From an airboat ride in the Everglades to a walk along Atlantic Avenue in Delray. There’re so many wonderful neighborhoods throughout South Florida that it’s difficult to pick one favorite. I try to fit it all in depending on my guests’ preferences.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, my first broker was one of the most influential people in South Florida real estate for many years. He passed away last year but he has left a tremendous legacy in the many real estate agents he mentored and taught throughout his long and successful career: Ray Barkett of The Keyes Company Realtors.
