We had the good fortune of connecting with Paulina Hurtado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paulina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always had a push toward the real estate industry. I started in the banking industry when I was 16 as teller. Then, at 18, I got my mortgage license. By the time I was 20, my father insisted that I get my real estate license. At first, I was skeptical of pursuing a career as real estate agent. However, my father’s persistence eventually won me over, and I ended up getting my license. At the time, I didn’t know how to feel about making the switch from mortgages to real estate agent, but today I can proudly say that it was the best decision that I have ever made.

What should our readers know about your business?
Century 21 Global Connections Realty is an independently-owned real estate firm in South Florida. In an increasingly competitive market, we always prioritize delivering extraordinary client experiences.

Seeing the impact my agents make on the lives of so many people is truly the most rewarding feeling ever. My agents are definitely what I am most proud of, and I am always excited to see them grow and adapt in this ever-changing market and industry.

However, real estate is not easy. Determination and hard work will go a long way and can help anyone reach their goals. I think that the best piece of advice that I got was from my dad when he insisted that I always work hard and push myself. Even when things seem like they will fall apart, just never give up – go on and find ways to make it happen.

In business, it’s important to create a raving fans and not just customers/clients. You want people talking about their amazing experience and spreading the word to their family, their friends and the whole world. For this reason, we are relentless advocates for our fans. Our promise of trust, integrity, and having the highest standards of work are crucial to us achieving our consistent goal of defying mediocrity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week is just not enough to time! My friend will barely get a taste of the amazing things to do in South Florida. Nonetheless, we’d definitely spend at least two-three days exploring the Florida Keys! Those sharp, crystal blue waters are absolutely breathtaking and Mallory Square is always so active with a variety of restaurants and shops to visit. Oh! And the sunsets there are spectacular! The next few days will definitely be jammed packed with more local activities. A walk down South Beach would very likely be in the plans. I’d take my bestie to eat at the Rusty Pelican, and maybe do some night-time bar hopping in the streets of Wynwood. We can spend a relaxing afternoon at the Hollywood Boardwalk, take a dip in the warm ocean waters, and then grab some Hong Kong-inspired ice cream street snack waffles at Puffles. Yum! Then, to wrap it all up, we’d book a night at the famous guitar-shaped, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Enjoy the many amenities offered and then dance the night away at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad, for sure, has been the most influential person in regard to what I decided to do with my career. I have him to thank for both encouraging me to first start a career in real estate; and second, for supporting me while I became a business owner. His support is why now I lead a team of successful agents.
