We had the good fortune of connecting with Pawan Pinisetti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pawan, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I’ve had many many answers to this question over time, and those answers have changed and evolved, as everything in life should.
As it stands today, I don’t really see any clear demarcation between my work and personal life. They’re so deeply intertwined. My workplace feels like home, and my team members are essentially family to me.

I thoroughly enjoy what I do, so I can’t even truly call it “work.” Of course, I acknowledge the effort and countless hours that go into this industry, but at the end of the day, it’s all incredibly rewarding to me.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been a professional chef for just over 20 years, and in that time, I’ve had my fair share of limelight and celebrated successes. From being featured on national and international television to winning highly regarded professional competitions, I’ve been fortunate to accumulate numerous awards and accolades in the industry.

It’s never easy, but I’ve always said, “The glory lies in the failures, not the wins.”

Patience and determination are two of my biggest strengths that I’ve learned to build on. While I’ve always been good at winning, I’ve learned to put much more work and thought into the process—and now, I cherish and enjoy it more than ever.

I’m now the Founder and CEO of Level P Hospitality, and I truly enjoy doing meaningful business with amazing companies and working with professionals whose visions and values align with my own.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a homebody, given the choice.

We have the beautiful blue ocean here, so it’d be a shame not to take the boat out for a fishing trip.

As one might speculate, I’m obsessed with eating well. I don’t really care if it’s “fine dining” or not. It just has to be good, and you’ll find me there—whether it’s at a local fruit stand or a Michelin-starred establishment. It just has to be good.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All my teammates (former and current) have been significant contributors to my journey and evolution. I draw tremendous inspiration from each of their stories. So many victories and lessons are shared. We spend so much time together that it’s hard not to be inspired by such amazing people.

I’m also incredibly fortunate to find immense peace and grounding from my family. They provide the best support system I could ask for.
