We had the good fortune of connecting with Pedro Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pedro, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balance right now is simple. I’m not married yet so most of my time goes into my work. I recently leaned into traveling more. Not for work but to actually take a break, a vacation. I used to consider staying home and relaxing a vacation but I would always find some work to do after a while. My work is my passion, my purpose so sometimes I don’t even realize I am working. I enjoy sports so that’s my outlet. I watch football and basketball. I love playing basketball, one day I will still be playing in an 80 year old and older league. Still wearing my old Miami Heat Jersey.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
“There is nothing easy that’s worth doing.” – B. Marley My career started actually when I learned how to dress. I was alway into art and being a creative. I loved music and spoken word poetry. Good movies and pictures in magazines. But it wasn’t until I learned how to dress that I learned professionalism. My mentor told me “Dress for the job you want not the job you have.” So I began to dress like what I wanted to look like as a boss. It wasn’t always suits and ties. Sometimes it was wearing a scarf in the spring. When you see me, you see someone different. In his own lane and does things his own way. That is how I approached acting and writing. Thats how I approached my storytelling. There aren’t any new stories, I just tell the story my way. That is what makes my brand different, I believe everyone can be like that. I encourage it. We help people tell their stories their way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in LA right now because I am working on a few projects, but I’m from south Florida. So, I’ll answer for both. In LA, we would go to Santa Monica Pier, The Getty (Both), All the museums downtown, Little Tokyo, the fashion district, hike up to the Hollywood sign and walk down Hollywood blvd. In south Florida, we would go to Disney (It’s better in FL), Key West, South Beach, the botanical garden and museum, Los Olas, the pier off Commercial at night, go eat at Miami Subs and for sure eat home cooked Haitian food. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Shoutout section? Ok, Jesus, that’s number one. My family. Irlande, Periera, Malissa, Rob, PJ, and Pazel. My dearest Rodini, you are the reason this started. I love you and I miss you and I will make you proud. All of my friends, far too many to name. They know who they are, I mean that sincerely. You’ve helped me think about things, analyze, read, write, rehearse, loaned and given me money. You’ve helped me by just talking to me about crazy stuff or nothing at all not even knowing that you talked me off the ledge. I thank you all from the bottom.
