We had the good fortune of connecting with Pierre Hosang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pierre, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind our success is that we love what we do! The success of our brand, Miami Krew Soccer, has a lot to do with our willingness and passion to develop good human beings, rather than just good soccer players. During the growth of our business, there have been numerous obstacles that we had to overcome. We already knew that if it was too easy, it probably was not worth the time. We embraced the challenges with purpose, an open mind and determination. We always believed in ourselves, our mission and were driven to be a top youth soccer Club in Miami. Outside of our own determination and hard work, we were lucky enough to be surrounded by other good human beings that helped in our success. Having people that believe in you and what you are about is key to your success. Mentors, friends and family were always there to lend a helping hand, to brainstorm ideas and provide feedback of any sort. We love what we do so much that we reflect everyday on the things we are doing well, but more importantly, the things we can improve.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The business name is Miami Krew Soccer. We are a soccer Club located in Miami and have existed since 2007. We started as a men’s semi-pro team. Since 2015, we have dedicated our efforts to working with kids (5 to 14 years old), with the effort of building from the ground up. What sets us apart is that Miami Krew is dedicated to total player development and doing it in a family-oriented environment. Our goal is to make sure all Krew players are loving the game and are fundamentally sound by time they get to 14 years old. Miami Krew is a successful program and we are proud to say that over 90% of our players have moved on to continue enjoying the game, playing for top local teams, high schools, colleges and are all positively contributing to society.
We are a successful business today because we never lost focus on the “WHY’ we do what we do. We enjoyed the journey, we embraced growth through mistakes and we had the right people around us. The challenges were not easy but we always did the right thing, and stayed strong in our beliefs, no matter the outcome.
Along the way, I have learnt the importance of self-reflection, humility, perseverance, patience, loyalty and inspiring others.
The Miami Krew brand exists for all the right reasons. We put the players first, no matter their skill level, each player’s development is equally important. Our family-oriented environment, combined with the love for what we do creates the best suitable developmental pathway for any player of any level.

Go Krew!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the beach a couple times for sure, so many ways to enjoy that environment. Take them to a nice shopping mall (maybe Dolphin, Aventura or Sawgrass).
Visit South Beach, Wynwood, Doral City, Las Olas for some nice night life, drinks and eating.
Try to go so a Pro Soccer game if available. If not, maybe a Miami Heat or Dolphins game.

I would try to take them places they have never seen before, places that show the culture of Miami, places that show my own culture and Jamaican background. We would definitely go eat some Jerk Chicken one day!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The following persons truly believed in me, my coaching and leadership. Miami Krew wouldn’t be successful without them:

Peter Marshall – My brother from another mother, but actually my first cousin. He has been there for me from day one; from being a player, to being a coach, to even being a dj. Peter has always supported me and I wouldn’t be who I am today without all his support. Much love!

Jorge Vieta – Gave me the opportunity to coach for 10 years, gaining much knowledge and experience. He always provided honest feedback and always wanted the best for me. Much appreciated Flacco!

Gus Roldan – Gave me the chance to run my own Club and trusted me to be a good leader and Director. Gus is a great mentor and has always supported my dream. Thank you Gus!

Brent Stoffle – A true friend that becomes family. He is a great mentor and has supported Miami Krew in every way, even showing up to grill for our Fun Day. He has helped me with many crucial decisions and circumstances along the way. It is a blessings to have such a good and knowledgeable friend. Much appreciated Brenty!
