We had the good fortune of connecting with Piervalerio Vignola and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Piervalerio, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When I started my work career, I was hungry, I wanted to have more, I didn’t care working extra hours or extra shifts to excel in anything I did. Of course, at that time I was in my 20s, not that I’m old now, but over time you start to move the balance to a point where you question, what is really life about? Do I work to live or live to work? Well, honestly, I want the work to work for myself. If you consider the moments of real joy, the distractions, and the family time, all these moments are very limited compared to the hours spent at work. When I first moved to the United States, I used to start my day at six in the morning, ending at midnight. The only time I had for myself was one hour of workout after finishing my shift in the office. After that I would jump back into studying and working at my personal projects. Over time I started to realize that this wasn’t fulfilling me. Quality time was almost inexistent, and I started to wonder: What do I live for? To work, pay bills, eat and what? There it was when I started planting the roots of my own business. I’m willing to sacrifice all my time for a few years, shift the balance to my work life to then get a massive time payback. Time doesn’t exist, time is the reflection into the future you think, or it is the memory of the past experiences lived in the present. What is real is the present, the life that you are living in this exact moment. Life balance to me is to live in the present, which is what generates the most joyful moments. Either I’m working at my own factory, or enjoying a glass of wine with my partner, this is what gives me a sense of fulfillment, a sense of synchrony and harmony within body and mind.
What should our readers know about your business?
Getting where we are today wasn’t easy at all. As everything you have to put a lot of effort, persistence is the key. The universe has everything for you, but you have to give something to the Universe to get a reward back. There are moments when you want to give up and continue with the easy life, be a normal employee, with no worries and no issues. However, that will not get you where I want to be. There are a lot of sacrifice, sacrifice in time, in money but. if you keep pushing, keep seeing the bigger picture, then you continue to go the extra mile. As a owner you are always the first one to get to the job and the last one to leave, you appreciate everyone’s job, you have that special eye to make everything perfect.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m a big fan of Brian Tracy, I get inspired by his books. Also, I want to recognize my business partner Luca Sparacino. We started this adventure together, we had a lot of mountains to climb but finally we are seeing the great results.
