Meet Rachel Needle | Licensed Psychologist, Certified Sex Therapist, Entrepreneur, Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Needle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, what do you attribute your success to?
Wow, this is a loaded question and one that I will have to change from factor to factorS. The most important factors behind my success and the success of my brands are passion, relationships, a phenomenal team, exceptional service and offerings, my belief in my products, and my genuine care for every client, student, participant, and consultee. My passion for what I do shows. People have commented on how the excitement I have for what I do and how I do it have drawn them to me and my offerings. Next, having great relationships with people allows me to have the best of the best involved and working with me. I believe in active collaboration and this helps build an audience and relationships. I would also never survive without the support of my incredible friends, mentors, and family. So, in these ways, relationships have been a huge factor contributing to my success. Similarly, I would not be able to do what I do without the incredible team of people that work with me day in and day out. They are the glue to all of my business endeavors.
I also know that without the best products, success is limited. My group practice, Whole Health Psychological Center is staffed with exceptional therapists specializing in all areas of psychology; My schools and training programs, Modern Sex Therapy Institutes, Palm Beach University, and Advanced Mental Health Training Institute have some of the best faculty, speakers, and courses offered in the field. This sets me up for success and allows me to feel good about what I am doing. Through my consulting in business and practice building companies, Rachel Needle LLC and My Private Practice Collective, mental health and substance use disorder treatment facilities and mental health professionals looking to thrive in private and group practice get all that I have to give with regards to knowledge, processes, and coaching. Through these offerings, individuals and facilities can learn, grow, be successful, ensure they are doing things ethically, expand, and increase profits.
My belief in what I offer allows me to successfully communicate about the products and the value of them to people. Because I am so confident in my products and offerings, it is easy to talk to others about them passionately and people pick up on that and feel inspired and confident in committing to us. And lastly, I genuinely care about every person I cross paths with especially those who trust me with their business. I want every person who comes to treatment or purchases a course or service from one of my companies to be happy that they did so. This pushes me to listen to feedback and be in a state of continuous improvement. And as a bonus when people are happy, they tell other people, leading to greater success. I have worked hard to overcome challenges, become more aware of the areas where I struggle, and turn those challenges and struggles into strengths. I’ve always loved and lived by the philosophy of KAIZEN which is change for the better or continuous improvement!
I hope that all that I do will be a blueprint for the future and will inspire others to follow their dreams and passion for this work. There has never been a time when attention to quality mental health care and training others in this area, has been so important. I hope the work I do continues beyond my years, and that mental health care will be considered a greater part of healthcare.

What should our readers know about your business?
What I believe sets me apart is my passion and genuineness. The biggest driving force in my life is my desire to help people. This has been the case since I was a young child. My mother tells stories about how I was always helping people or wanting to help people and that people would seek me out for support as I got older. I am lucky in that I turned my passion in to a career, and was able to build on that.
Getting to where I am today was not easy. I made mistakes, had less successful years that made me question my decisions, and doubted myself along the way. I am human. But after letting myself feel all the feels, these are the times when I became even more motivated. I was motivated to learn, to do better, and to be better. Now my mind doesn’t stop. I am constantly thinking of ways to grow my own businesses and start new ones; I spend time consulting with individuals and facilities helping them grow their businesses; I hire and train therapists at my group practice; and I train educators, mental health and healthcare professionals around the world. I am real, open, and I love to collaborate. Those traits also leave me vulnerable in many ways. I have become ok with that. I strive to help as many people as possible live happier, more satisfied, and mentally healthier lives and help others to grow and thrive as professionals.
One thing I want others to know is that you can’t and you don’t have to do this alone! I mean that about life and business. Support and collaboration are essential components to success emotionally, personally, and professionally.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
What a perfect question to have me think about as two of my best friends will be coming into town in a few weeks! We will have the best time ever, and that always starts with spending a day on my boat, the SexDock! There is nothing more relaxing and fun than being out on the Intracoastal Waterway cruising around and enjoying the beautiful Florida weather with friends. Our time together will continue with relaxing at my house, having dance parties, and sitting around talking and laughing. There is nothing I love more than quality time with the people who I love the most. I am a fan of great restaurants that have outdoor seating options especially now. Some of my go-to favorites include Avocado Grill, City Cellar, Cucina, U-Tiki, and PapiChulo Tacos.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This Shoutout is dedicated to my mentors who are also my colleagues and close friends, without whom I would never be where I am today. I met Dr. Kate Richmond my first year of graduate school. We bonded over our passion for and activism in women’s rights. Kate was supportive throughout my graduate school years and continues to be to this day. She introduced me to Dr. Lenore Walker whose role in my life has been instrumental. Lenore did for me what she has done for hundreds of other students and invited me to be part of research studies, travel around the world to present our research and have fun while we were at it! We co-authored a book together and to this day we are involved in projects and writing together. Dr. Stanley Althof accepted me to be part of his practice when I was a Postdoctoral Resident. I worked with him for over 15 years and learned so much from him with regards to business, clinical research, writing, and training so that I could become a great Psychologist. When I had the idea to open my group practice, Dr. Lori Eickleberry supported me and provided me with invaluable guidance, as she had successfully done the same. I continue to learn from her and seek out her help when questions come up. Dr. Dan Watter has been there for me to help teach me about the field, bounce ideas off of, and talk through issues as they come up. Amanda Landry invited me to be part of her practice building group and business and has taught me so much about leadership, collaboration, and group practice. And finally, Debbie Schwarzberg who is like a second mother to me, has also been an invaluable business mentor who is always there to talk through decisions and support me in my business endeavors. All of those mentioned have been mentors to me and such wonderful friends. They have listened, supported, challenged, empathized with, encouraged, and helped me reach my goals. They have transformed my life.
