Meet Rebecca Storani | Ballet dancer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Storani and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, why did you pursue a creative career?
I did choose ballet at my very early age, but as something that made me feel full and happy already at 3 years old. Growing up i realized that was the art in ballet making me feel as good.
Ballet is not just about technique, but it’s an art… we are actors, athletes, dancers giving emotions in roles, so that’s why artists.
Rather than that i also like to spend my freetime painting, even though i’m not professional in that, it makes me feel creative, using colors and making me feel happy and free. I think art and creation is my world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The thing i’m most proud of me and my work is the real emotions i’m putting into it. It’s not just ballet or just work.. for me getting in a role it’s a whole process that takes time and involves your soul, your everything. I’m also very professional and this makes it easier to get where we want. Doesn’t mean that it was easy.. it is still not!! Everyday we have to work as hard as if it’s our first day of work. I’m pushy with myself, sometimes even too much.. but i push myself because i like challenges, it makes me grow thinking of a target i want to arrive to.. so even motivational. From those i learned a lot.. to not trust all the people and give love to anyone (as my impulse say so), because not everyone reacts in the same way in front of a challenge.. some gets frustrated, insicure and sometimes even evil. I learned that giving up it’s not an option and doesn’t give you anything back. I also learned to think more on myself first rather than putting me aside and having always other people in front, in my vision.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Not because i’m italian.. but i would take my best friend to my region. Full of green, calm and really clean and good air to breath. Super healthy.
We would go eating in some old city full of story, to have a walk after the meal and maybe sit on the grass and have a talk.
Right after that i would go totally different, in a big city like Miami for example because i loved it

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this part to my very first teacher of my hometown ballet school that has always helped me through the years.. during hard moments and injuries, always helping me be back on my feet. To my family always there for me and my boyfriend that supported me and makes me feel the best version of myself.
