We had the good fortune of connecting with Rose Mercado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rose, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I grew up in rural Pennsylvania, in a small town that few people have heard of. My humble beginnings and limited access to different types of music in the 1980s and 1990s led me down a path to discover success through my life’s greatest passion, music.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Photobombshell Media is a boutique music consulting firm that caters to the needs of independent artists looking to level up their careers. What started as a showcase-style radio show for independent artists has become a thriving artist community, a hub for artist development, and a spotlight for the creative projects and work of independent artists. It has been a long time coming and the path hasn’t always been clear, but after listening to what the artists want, here we are. The path toward becoming a consulting firm for independent artists has been relatively organic, and the mission remains the same: highlight and elevate talented independent artists so they can reach whatever goals they have set their sights on. Along the way, there have been pivots and lessons, but the greatest thing I’ve come out of it learning is that not everyone will love you and what you do, but those aren’t your people. Authenticity and honesty will always bring the people who are meant to hear and see you to the table.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Miami? I am one of the biggest fans of street art, so we would have to go to the Wynwood Walls. To eat, we have to get into Stubborn Seed. It has major wow factor.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many people deserve credit for their part in my story! Firstly, I want to thank my mother and grandmother for inspiring me through their journeys as recording artists and performers. Both always encouraged my musical gifts and creativity, and for that I am grateful. I want to thank Chris Lopez (AKA CAL.) for connecting with me early on in my career in streaming radio and encouraging me to pursue the path of uplifting independent artists through my work in radio, playlisting, and later through my website, https://photobombshell.media. I want to shout out my family for always letting me fly by the seat of my pants and cheering me on. I want to shout out the INCREDIBLE Ciph Boogie for always putting me (and others) on to new opportunities in the music industry and graciously giving credit and flowers to others while pursuing his dreams. Lastly, I want to recognize all of the members of the Photobombshell.media community and VIP channel who constantly support and uplift one another. You all are the real MVPs and you help keep me going when motivation is low.
