We had the good fortune of connecting with Reema Salem and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reema, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
There have been plenty of moments where I’ve questioned what I’m doing and thought about giving up, especially during those late nights in the kitchen dealing with the stress of running a home-based business. But every time I hear someone say how much they loved my chocolates or how my treat reminded them of home, it reignites my passion. That feedback, that connection with people through something I created, makes it all worth it and reminds me why I started in the first place.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Habibti Sweets started as a fun experiment, just me in the kitchen making trending chocolate treats for my family. Their reactions pushed me to take it seriously, and before I knew it, what started as a hobby became a passion-fueled business. I specialize in Dubai-style chocolates and chocolate-covered treats that blend bold flavors with a touch of tradition. What sets Habibti Sweets apart is that every order is handmade, fully customized, and made to be both beautiful and genuinely delicious, never just one or the other.

It definitely hasn’t been easy. There were lots of late nights, trial and error, and moments of self-doubt. But I kept going, learned to trust my process, and focused on what mattered most: creating sweets that people love and connect with. I’m most proud of how this brand has grown from something small into something that brings joy to so many. At its core, Habibti Sweets is about heart, culture, and creativity, one chocolate at a time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to my family. Their constant support, encouragement, and belief in me, especially during the times I doubted myself, meant everything. From taste testing countless batches to cheering me on through every win and setback, they’ve been the backbone of Habibti Sweets. I wouldn’t be where I am without them and the way they’ve always reminded me to keep going, even when things felt tough.
