Meet Reese Whitely | Founder of Complex Physical Therapy and Performance

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reese Whitely and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reese, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simple, I did not want to be mediocre and I refused to not reach my potential in this life. I started it to give not only hope to people of color that anything they put their mind to with a bit of faith and trust in the most high can be possible but also to create an atmosphere where staff members would be treated with respect and be given the ability to step into their full potential. Coming from another country shaped me into seeing the not so good things that life had to offer but also gave me perspective on what I didn’t want. I knew there was more to do and more to attain, so I went for it. I knew it would be hard but I also have grown up with the mindset to always bet on yourself, and that you can do it despite all odds.
What should our readers know about your business?
In regard to my business, what I’m most proud of is that we’re still here — standing. The challenges we’ve faced growing a business without a formal business background, and as a first-generation entrepreneur, have been immense. Statistically, the odds were against us. And yet, by God’s grace and favor, we’ve not only endured but continue to evolve.
I’m proud that He has led me to this point — and into a space where I can truly be grateful, where I can find Him even in the midst of chaos. I’ve made it this far because of His provision, the people He’s placed along the way, and because I’ve stayed persistent and consistent — showing up with faith that the vision He gave me years ago would one day become reality.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is this: we can’t do it alone. True longevity and fulfillment come from understanding our purpose. I’ve learned that people are your greatest asset — and that when you pour into others, it always comes back. No one is too big for the small, and no one is too small for the big.
I want people to know that with vision, faith, and full trust in our Creator, anything is possible. Greatness lives within all of us, and we’re all capable of reaching it if we just stay the course.
Our brand exists to deliver excellence — to help people heal, optimize, and become their full selves.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate the success to everyone who has been involved in the coming up of the business. Every staff member that has been a part of the journey, every partner, every person that helped to build and those who are currently apart of the establishment. Achieving greatness and purpose never comes from one individual in solace, but from a group of individuals believing in a common goal to achieve things that normally cannot be done.
