Meet Regine Jillea Dawson | Designer, Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Regine Jillea Dawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regine Jillea, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued an artistic career because I figured if I’m going to be doing something for the rest of my life, I should love it! I have always been into clothing, beauty, and art, so choosing the entrepreneurial route was destined for me. I was told before that YOU have to choose entrepreneurship, it’s not going to choose you. I had to step out on faith and just start and see where God took me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a designer. Right now, I designer clothing, mainly tops and t-shirts. What sets me apart is that I have fortitude even during a global pandemic. This is not the best time to start a business, but despite all, I still decided to do it. It is a privilege to manage a start up and I’m very thankful that I have the focus in today’s age to follow through with my dreams. I have a degree in Retail Entrepreneurship from Florida State University and I believe that my course load prepared me very well for the things that come up in the daily life of an entrepreneur. I want the world to know that Regine has something great to bring to the table. I want to do everything I can to excel in my life and help others excel in there’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother deserves a shoutout because she has always supported my creativity no matter how unique. I knew that God gave me the mom I have in order for me to have creative freedom so young. She has always given me a listening ear and kind words to help me carry on.
