Today we’re excited to be connecting with Richard Yasmine again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Richard , we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
It’s great to reconnect again, for those who may not be familiar with us and our work, I’m Richard Yasmine, a Lebanese interior architect and product designer with a passion for storytelling through design. My creations reflect the essence of Beirut, my hometown, where life, emotions, nature, and the human experience intertwine. I explore themes like social dynamics, taboos, and the cultural richness of the Levant, channeling internal chaos into minimalist yet bold and authentic expressions.
A defining aspect of my journey has been integrating Lebanese craftsmanship into my designs, bridging tradition with contemporary influences. Geometric shapes often take center stage in my work, offering a distinct, almost poetic visual language that merges reality with imagination. Beyond objects, I aim to craft narratives, designs that not only serve a function but also evoke meaning and emotion.
After honing my skills in various creative studios early in my career, I took the leap and founded my own studio. This pivotal moment gave me the freedom to fully embrace my vision, blending my love for interior architecture, art, and product design. Over the years, my work has reached global audiences, with exhibitions at prestigious events like Milan Design Week, Paris Design Week, and Dubai Design Week, consistently garnering attention from leading publications and blogs.
Currently, I’m finalized a new master’s degree in Art Criticism and Curating, which has added a deeper layer to my practice. This academic exploration allows me to engage critically with art and design, enriching the way I approach my work. My journey is fueled by an enduring passion for creativity, a curiosity and a commitment to pushing boundaries while staying true to my identity.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Since we last spoke, the journey has been vibrant and full of evolution, just like the world of design itself. Over the past months, we’ve been immersed in a mix of creative projects, academic pursuits, and exciting collaborations that continue to shape my path.
On the creative front, we’ve been working on several collections that explore various themes and bold shapes, all while maintaining our geometric signature. Some of these collections have already seen the light, while others are still in progress. Hopefully, 2025 will bring some of these collaborations and partnerships to fruition.
The design process is always intense and demanding, but it’s equally rewarding and fun. It involves sketches, design iterations, and brainstorming sessions, all aimed at achieving the best results that align with the concepts and desired outcomes. Collaborating with artisans can sometimes be overwhelming, especially when it comes to convincing them of a particular approach, but it’s always a gratifying experience. There’s a certain joy in the process that makes it worthwhile.
I’ve been preparing for upcoming showcases, though nothing is confirmed yet. I prefer to discuss these events when the timing is right.
Of course, the journey isn’t without its challenges. Balancing commitments and professional responsibilities can feel overwhelming at times, but it’s also a journey of growth. Every obstacle teaches us something new, whether it’s patience, a shift in perspective, or simply the joy of experimentation.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

What would the perfect day look like for you? Please give us as many details as possible.
A perfect day for me is a beautiful blend of work and leisure, where inspiration flows effortlessly. I wake up early but linger in bed until 7:30, savoring the quiet moments before the day begins. First, a cup of Lebanese coffee, similar to Turkish coffee but I infuse it with cardamom, a comforting ritual that sets the tone.

The morning starts with emails, social media updates, and sharing press highlights for recent projects. A quick call with my mom, who lives just five minutes away, is a non-negotiable boost to my day. Then, it’s time to care for my two cats, Miel and Smoke, who bring warmth and chaos to my mornings.

If work calls, a visit to our artisans or a site visit energizes me, but let’s imagine it’s not purely a working day. A walk through the old streets of Beirut, my muse, gives me a sense of connection. The city breathes life into me, even amidst the car pollution and noise. Admiring its old buildings, whether in ruins, rebuilt, or restored, reminds me of why I do what I do.

By noon, a second coffee with friends feels just right, a time to talk about everything and nothing. Lunch is early, around 1 or 2, and it’s a moment I cherish because I love cooking. Any cuisine, you name it, I enjoy the process and the flavors.

On a day off, lets say Saturday or Sunday a quick 30-minute nap in the afternoon recharges me. Then, back to sketching or drawing, it’s not work but pure passion. By late afternoon, another coffee between 5 and 6 pairs perfectly with music in the background. If I’m out, I’ll wander through Beirut’s art galleries, soaking in creativity and exhibitions.

Weekends evenings are for gathering. Dinner with loved ones, a good red wine, because I adore it,and meaningful conversation make the night special. If we’re feeling social, a quiet drink at a pub might follow. While I used to enjoy loud music and dancing, I now find joy in calmer nights, savoring the moments instead of rushing through them.

A day like this, balanced, meaningful, and filled with little joys, feels like perfection to me.(This would be the perfect day, if it ever happened. Usually, they come with much more pressure).
