We had the good fortune of connecting with Richie Schwab and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Richie, why did you pursue a creative career?
After sitting down with Richie Schwab I gained a real insight to his passion for the creative arts. The man has a vibrant personality and a wide variety of impressive talents. Richie was introduced to performing at a very young age. Richie naturally gravitated to entertainment due to his bright intelligence and love for the public. Currently, in addition to performing as a DJ, Richie also performs stand up comedy. Known to many as Akuarium, Richie has built a great reputation for himself as a trendsetter in both the Atlanta and Miami music scene.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Richie has a very unique style. The artist experiments with different hairstyles and forms of fashion. Richie often sets himself apart from the crowd and stands out positively as a futuristic designer. Richie approaches each challenge with an optimistic attitude and a confident approach to problem-solving. When there are obstacles Richie finds a way to get the results. Often overcoming adversity, the artist grows ever stronger and more able. Mr. Schwab welcomes the next opportunity to learn and grow and is generous mentoring the next generation with his time.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Mr. Schwab will link up with his close friends and lifestyle guru’s Lyndon Smith and Pablo Uribe to enjoy a week of adventure. Monday he will visit Miami Seaquarium and explore a historical place like Coral Castle Museum dinner at Swan. Tuesday they will tour The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science for plenty of interactive experiences, including a planetarium, an aquarium, and an experimental science lab dinner at PLANTA Queen in Coconut Grove. Wednesday is for the water. Yacht the day away with Richie to the sandbar in Stiltz Ville with dinner set up at Carbones. Thursday is a fun time in Wynwood. Akuarium was recently booked to DJ at Freehold Miami in the arts district. You will spot him there lounging with artists between studio sessions. After he will dash over to Gulfstream to watch the horse races. Dinner at Komodo followed by fire sparklers with bottles at Komodo Lounge. Friday one hour drive to discover the creatures that live in the Everglades. When returning to the bay Richie will roll through Miami Design District dinner after at Papi Steak. Saturday walk with him at sunrise along Lummus Park Beach. Spot him by the pool at Strawberry Moon in The Goodtime Hotel to visit his dear friend Melissa Wade in the VIP cabanas. Dinner at The Café with celebrities and continuing celebrations after at E11EVEN. Lastly, Plant Miami for brunch then a stop to Kiki on the River saving the best for last “church” at LIV on Sunday!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mr. Schwab has been in leadership positions his entire life. In high school, Richie was picked to be one of the Louisiana Association of Student Council staff leaders by Phil Gugliuzza. Richie attributes his great value system to his parents and certain teachers. Richie was also a stand out athlete on his high school track & field team. Richie‘s strong discipline can be in part thanks to his coaches. Richie went on to run for University of Mississippi. While attending Ole Miss, Richie decided to transfer to Southern Methodist University to be a part of an even stronger team. At SMU, Richie met Jordan Bolch, music executive and recording artist. Richie’s friendship with JB has spawned multiple records, books, video games and music videos, cementing a legacy of extremely high quality standards and a reputation of exceeding expectations. Richie has almost countless musical influences like Michael Jackson, Paul Oakenfold and Tiësto with mentors including Dallas Austin, Cory Enemy and Patrick Collier.
