We had the good fortune of connecting with Rob Jeezz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rob, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was around thirteen when I started to pick up hobbies other then sports like photography, sewing, digital arts, painting – drawling taking up cooking classes, architect designs, building computers really anything to keep me busy. I don’t come from stability, successful parents- money etc . So growing up I had to wear what ever my mother could afford so we got pick on here and there but my mother always did her best. As I got older anytime I could put a fit together even if it didn’t match I would, don’t matter where Aj was going . Kids use to be like “where ever JEEZZ goes he always gotta be wavy and I would just be like “pretty much” so . I would always say it’s not wavey it’s SWAVEY and you gotta think this is like back in 2003 2004 . I guess that’s where my fashion adventure started . Growing up I had a consistent melody in my head, I couldn’t leave music alone, it was all around me . I knew I wanted to be a designer but I also loved music, growing up broke didn’t help, everything I wanted was on tv screen. So to answer your question, Starting a business form zero was the hardest thing I ever had to when bot a single person in my family even graduated high school besides me, everyone I grew up with was either dead, locked up or long forgotten about. The toughest part was having zero support but just a vision .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started making music at an early age, I was 17 when I jump in . Always been a creative and had an eye for fashion !

My mother is sick , my little brother Casey doing 25 years for something he didn’t do, I lost my best friend when I was only 17 and my entire life has been pain and all I ever wanted was to show people that I don’t live on a crutch, that sometimes you are dealt a bad hand . I’m on go constantly, photo shoots , studio sessions, working on the website , traveling, always networking and working on new designs new habits .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The sugar factory for sure !! It’s a vibe, creative but also love the colors but the food is amazing .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Marlena !! She’s the back bone of SWAVEY and everything we stand for .

I would probably jump in the whip and just drive, no phones no cameras or distractions and just show them life out side of where I’m from . I’m from the bottom the 570 – uptop “Williamsport Pa” where I’m from you couldn’t imagine seeing the ocean like this at sunrise .
