We had the good fortune of connecting with TaRhonda Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TaRhonda, are there risks you’ve taken that you are really happy about in retrospect?
I worked in Corporate America for a Fortune 500 company for almost 14 years. Throughout my years working there, I still had a desire to be an entrepreneur. It was a feeling that I couldn’t fight off from my college years. I realized my passion was entrepreneurship; therefore in 2008, I started my first business, Kolmio Global Inc. I worked full-time in Corporate America and worked consistently on my business until I stepped out on faith and put my focus strictly on my business. My decision to leave Corporate America was the best decision I made. Shortly after leaving, it seemed like everything started to fall into place. The goals that I wanted to accomplish was coming to fruition. From that moment, I felt I had nothing to lose and the only person that would be stopping me from reaching my destiny would be ME.

Also known as “Your Strategic Brand Authority”, I am a Business/Brand Consultant and Web Designer. With over a decade of experience, I specialize in helping you strategically grow your brand with the use of technology and practical business savvy. I am passionate about ensuring that business owners at every stage have access to the resources and tools needed to create the business of their dreams. My passion lies into taking a business idea and bringing it to life creatively. One would ask, how did I get started in this field? When I landed a job in the IT industry, my role was to analyze computer systems and gather requirements from my customers on how to make a software or tool more efficient for them. With the help of computer developers, it was our job to develop and design systems. This role peaked my interest in wanting to do the same for customers online. Therefore, I started educating myself on the various IT applications and how technology was used in small businesses. From that moment, I realized how important technology and websites were important to a small business. It was a person’s first impression of that business. Playing the role as a client for the developers and helping design the look of software applications for a number of years, I had found my passion. I decided to take this passion and help business owners design their online presence. What sets me apart? There are many business consultants and web designers out there, but customer service will make and break your business. I build relationships with my clients. I get to know them and understand their long-term mission and goals. That is how I can provide the best service. I know what my clients need and what works for them because I know them as a “person.”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I was born and raised in South Florida so there are some great places to eat, drink and hang out. One of my favorite spots in the city is the ocean. You can’t come to South Florida and not go visit the ocean. This is a definite must see and a great place to just relax and chill. For eateries and drinks, I would go to Capital Grille (one of my favorites), Bimini Twist and order food from some of the local small businesses. I have clients who are the best chefs, caterers and mixologists.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mother. From the time my father passed away when I was 6 years old, my mother has always been there through it all. She sacrificed so much to ensure that I had a good education and that I had the things I needed to succeed in life. When I wanted to become a model at a young age, she supported me and enrolled me in modelling school. Although I didn’t become the Next Top Model (LOL), she supported again with my next aspiration and the next ones after that. I was always an individual who dreamt big. If there was ever a time where I second guessed myself, my mother was always there to get me back on track with my thinking. She believed in me when at times, I didn’t believe in myself and for that, I am forever grateful.
