We had the good fortune of connecting with Rochonda Ferrelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rochonda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always had an entreprenurial spirit. Even at a young age I was selling stickers to the kids around the neighborhood so that I could make money for the icecream truck. As an adult, I worked in corporate for 12 years but felt so limited and boxed in. Even with kind bosses who gave me a ton of freedom, I still felt limited – and just overall miserable. So that’s when I decided to start my own businesses and go all in on them. I was seeking freedom in my creativity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m a Medium and I work with spiritual guides and my Higher Self to channel the artwork that I create. I actually believe that all artists and creatives are mediums and that you are never creating “alone”. However, many just don’t realize it! I not only realize this, I harness this and leverage it to create things that really draw people in. It’s why I call my artwork, Magnetic Geodes – it’s because they magnetize people to them.

I think the biggest challenge I’ve experienced so far was taking the leap from corporate to working for myself. It took me many years to do that because my corporate career was very ‘cush’ and had me snuggled up in my comfort zone. But it wasn’t fulfilling and after a while, I just couldn’t bare it anymore. I was able to move through that by practicing only saying yes to things I have a “whole body yes” to and by managing my emotions through Emotional Intelligence (EQ) exercises to help me face my fear and be with the emotions instead of suppressing the fear and staying stuck in life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Like Snoop Dogg once said, “I want to thank me for believing in me, I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I wanna thank me for having no days off. I wanna thank me for never quitting. I wanna thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive. I wanna thank me for trying to do more right than wrong. I wanna thank me for being me at all times.”

But all kidding aside, I want to thank my husband Robert. He works very hard to ensure our family’s needs are met, that we can go on vacations, and purchase the things we enjoy. Without his support and encouragement, none of my artwork would be possible because sometimes my income as an artist is unpredictable. I’m grateful to him and all that he does for our family.
