We had the good fortune of connecting with Ronald Sánchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ronald, why did you pursue a creative career?
As long as I can remember, I was always drawn to the creative side of things; jumping from medium to medium until I found music.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
From multimedia art to just producing music was quite the transition for me, funneling all the creative input into something completely new is one of the best things I’ve done for myself.
I’m proud of overcoming life’s challenges, it hasn’t been easy for anybody in the past three years. Luckily I’ve manage to stay focused and laid down the proper work to establish where I am today. Sacrifices have been made. All for the sake of the art.
I’m exited to show everyone who has been there since the beginning and everybody what I can bring to the table.
More than ten years carrying the name, so many stories, so many memories that brings me to where I am today and to the person that I’ve become.
Making and keeping a balance is important, drinking loads of water it’s a must. Having faith in your own process and trusting it, it’s a big key to success.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’ll start by grabbing lunch on a Vegan shop called Market of the South, followed by visiting the traditional spot Lazy Moon Pizza at 50 Mills, I tend to have special connection with that place. To close up the evening in my cave with a good old fashion creative session.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Anthony Suarez from Back&Forward Records:
In the beginning, Censored The Audio, Anthony Suarez & Robbie Thomas created the label to push forward talents from Puerto Rico to the world via their selected genre of music.
Steven Lewis from LAFYTE Records:
Steven Lewis AKA JuLo; is a producer/label owner from Tampa Florida that I’ve had the pleasure of working with. He’s definitely shown me a different perspective on what making music is and that has helped me step the sonics to the next level.
Zak Emmanuel and Thomas Jones AKA Obsidian from Incurzion Audio:
On their well-respected label, I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of the real Drum and Bass movement across seas. Through them, I’ve been featured on ‘Reprezent Radio’, ‘Vision Radio’, ‘Industrial Sonics’ and have had releases, with more to come in the near future.
