Hi Scott, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
At first glance, “success” seems like an easy concept to define, but much like my forensic approach to jewelry appraisal, I prefer to look deeper than just surface level. Sure, everyone wants financial security, and I’m naturally competitive; I wouldn’t have pursued so many professional credentials otherwise. But for me, success isn’t about titles or income alone.

I ask myself: Am I spending enough time with my daughters to prepare and guide them through life’s challenges? If I’m earning enough to create that time and presence, then I consider myself successful. That balance is what I hope always defines my success.

What should our readers know about your business?
While there may be plenty of talented gem and jewelry appraisers, very few in the country do what I do, and even fewer do it the way I do it. Although we may share the same “what” in terms of the property we appraise, the where, when, why, and how set me apart. Instead of sitting behind a desk in the back of a jewelry store, I’m often called into unusual and high-stakes environments: standing beside federal law enforcement agents as I weigh solid gold bars on the same scales used for narcotics, ascending private elevators within the homes of South Florida VIPs, or taking the witness stand as an expert witness in court.

I’m proud to be trusted with some of the most complex, challenging, and high-risk appraisal assignments in the industry, where clarity and credibility matter most. Getting here was not easy. It required hard work, humility, and relentless honesty through every step of my career. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to know my own worth, to “appraise” myself, so to speak, and recognize the unique value I bring to clients who need a truly independent, highly credentialed expert.

What I want the world to know about my brand is simple: I take this work seriously. When you hire me, you’re getting a professional who combines generations of hands-on experience, elite gemological credentials, and the highest ethical standards to deliver clear, defensible, and trustworthy valuations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a good friend were visiting Miami for a week, I’d want to give them a mix of great food, a little culture, and time on the water. We’d definitely spend a day in Wynwood checking out the incredible murals and wandering through galleries and coffee shops nearby. I’d make sure we hit Lincoln Road for some outdoor dining and people-watching.

For a more laid-back day, we could hang out in Coconut Grove, grab brunch, and walk along the marina. We’d probably spend at least one night in South Beach, enjoy a great steak dinner and finish the night with a cocktail at a rooftop spot.

And of course, no trip to Miami would be official without at least one Cuban coffee and a Cuban sandwich!
