We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosio Benitez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rosio, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I feel that a lot went into my thought process of starting my own business but the main factor was that I never wanted to work for anyone ever again. I’ve been working customer service since I was 18 years old and I absolutely love it. I love taking care of customers, fixing problems and making people happy but I never felt good about doing things the way a company wanted me to. I never felt like I fit in to someone else mold and I definitely didn’t want to be the best me for someone else. I realized that the only way that I would be the real best me was working for me and so came my thoughts of deciding I should finally quit and start up my own business and in the middle of 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic that is exactly what I did.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Not only did I open a women’s clothing boutique that also offer’s plus-size clothing in March but I also began my photography business back up and started a small design shop with my best friend last year in the midst of the pandemic.

I honestly believe that I’ve gotten to where I am today professionally by all the amazing support that I have behind me from friends, family and loved ones. It’s been the hardest, long winding road ever but I can sincerely say that it’s been an amazing road. It hasn’t been easy and I don’t think that it will ever get easy but there are solutions to everything and ways to get over challenges and hills. I’ve learned that you should never take anything for granted, especially a helping hand.

I want the world to know that my brand wants to inspire everyone to feel beautiful wether you’re a size small or a size 3XL, we should all feel comfortable and absolutely beautiful. My story or who I am wants you to know that even though there are a lot of dark days with thunder and rain the sun will shine again.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Welcome to Miami! The total hot spot for vacation. I am a bit of a stay at home grandma but I find that one of the best places to go out to is Wynwood, FL where you can find a mixture of different vibes for your every mood. There’s also beautiful Hollywood Beach, FL where I go every single summer for a beautiful beach and the most awesome board walk. Miami has so many places that I could spend a month taking you every where you’d want to go.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I love this question because I feel there’s so many people around me that deserve so much credit. Beginning with my parents who tell me every single day at the end of it all, all that matters is that I do what I love and give it my all. I love my parents and without them I doubt I’ll be who I am (Hi mom & dad!).

Two of my best friends for being behind me at all cost and striving to always make me feel good and letting me know how it is without filter – Carlos and Yalena you guys are the real MVPs.

Lastly, my absolutely amazing boyfriend who is my partner, assistant, manager and everything in between. Helping me at every step and letting me know to never give up even though I want to. Seeing my tears, my anxiety, my doubt and reminding me that I’m here to kick some butt. Jonathan, you’re the absolute best and I feel without you I probably wouldn’t have gotten as far as I have.
