We had the good fortune of connecting with Roya Siroospour and we’ve shared our conversation below.

One of the most rewarding things about getting to know so many entrepreneurs and creatives is seeing first-hand how many of them are focused on so much more than just financial results. So many of the folks we connect with are focused on having a positive social impact on their community or the world at large. Can you talk to us about how you are helping the community?
My business has been fitness & health for over 20 years. I have a passion and purpose to help others look & feel their best with whole food plant based foods & fun exercise. I believe it’s the secret sauce to anti-aging, a strong immune system, and happy mood. One year ago I decided I wanted to reach more people and help people outside where I live in Miami Beach. I started making online programs that were affordable and accessible for people from anywhere in the world. During quarantine my company launched MyRoyafit.com which is an online platform membership with on-demand workouts, workout programs, stackable 15 min workouts, motivational community, and all my healthy tips & tricks. MyRoyaFit has built a community, healthy immune systems, stress relief, and also kept people safe at home working out!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
After working in corporate gyms all my life I decided to start my own business. I wanted the long hours I had been working to support something that was mine. I was unsure of what I wanted to do but I had this thought that I wanted to reach more people with my fitness programs. I wanted my workouts to be accessible to anyone around the world. Fitness had always been such a gift to me and helped me overcome difficult times and I wanted others to have this gift too. My idea was to start an online fitness business. At the time 7 years ago nobody was doing that and I was unsure where to even start. I did lots of research and talked to people about my ideas and without a big budget it didn’t seem I could pull it off. During this time I was fired from my corporate job for starting my business that was just an idea at this point, I hit the ground running. I spoke to a friend in the hospitality industry and he asked me to build a team & supply his hotel with fitness. This catapulted me into a brand new direction. I started to connect with other hotels and RoyaFit a luxury fitness concierge was born. We have been working for over 6 years with luxury hotel brands & condominiums. Even though the business was a huge success, and of course some ups & downs in the process. I still couldn’t stop thinking about creating programs for online fitness.. 1 year ago we branched info a new direction just 8mo before the pandemic. We started with workout guides that were bought online and emailed out. Then when the pandemic hit and hotels closed we lost 90% of our business and gyms closing. I knew we needed to put everything into the online business while the hospitality business recovered. During that time MyRoyafit was born, our membership based online platform with on demand workouts , community, tips & tricks from me, and a our on staff life coach guiding our members. What I have always done is let my intuition guide me and never let the change around you scare you. We can evolve and pivot into even bigger success than before. Has it been easy?.. definitely not but I trust the process. I know I have something to share with this world and it’s my purpose to help people feel & look their best with fitness and food.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
All my friends know if they come to visit me we are doing two things working out & eating! I love putting together fun outdoor activities and also eating local unique food. I live in Miami Beach So a weekend trip would be amazing. I would start Friday morning with a sunrise workout on the beach on 1st and the sand. We would do a barefoot workout with sand sprints, bands, and of course get into the water for swim at the end. From there we would head to breakfast and coffee, and fresh juice at Pura Vida on 1st street. Then after a relaxing shower we would spend the day in wynwood exploring the stores & art and have lunch at Charlie’s Vegan tacos. We would finish the night at Sushi Garage in south beach. . Saturday morning we will get a later start with some stairs at 1111 Lincoln road soaking up the beautiful views. Then we will head down to Planta for a yummy brunch. During the day hit up the Standard for a pool day and lunch and drinks. Call it a early night. Sunday we will head to Palace for drag brunch and finish at the beach for a beautiful beach day!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank every gym I worked for before owning my own business. I especially want to thank the last one that fired me and pushed me into the deep end of entrepreneurship!! Managing a large team at corporate gyms I learned to pivot quickly when a plan doesn’t work out, how to manage many personalities, customer service, and I learn to teach any style of format quickly! It shaped me to say YES even if was not sure how to do it yet. I also want to thank everyone who works with me for believing in us and seeing the big picture no matter where we are at in the process. I have been so blessed with people who work so hard to see projects come to life. I’m forever grateful!
