We had the good fortune of connecting with Rudolf Kohn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rudolf, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
“I decided to pursue an artistic career because I’ve always felt a deep passion for art and creativity. It’s a way to express my emotions and thoughts in a unique way. This is something I can’t stop doing; it’s my connection with the creator. I see it as a gift that I must use to serve others; it’s a social obligation. I believe that artists are filters in society, where our creativity nourishes the community. It’s a valid and important process.”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?

I’ve learned to appreciate every opportunity that comes my way, no matter how small it may seem. Discipline is the key to success; without it, it’s hard to stay consistent and achieve long-term goals. Enjoying every moment in the process is essential because, in the end, the journey is just as important as the outcome. Additionally, I’ve learned to always believe in my work, even when things don’t go as expected. This faith in my vision and effort has allowed me to overcome challenges and move forward with determination.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

Miami is a city experiencing remarkable growth, and as a local artist, I see this as an exciting opportunity to connect with the influx of new residents and visitors. I’m eager to showcase my work and invite people to explore my studio, where they can experience both my sculptures and paintings firsthand. My goal is to integrate my art into Miami’s vibrant cultural scene and find new spaces where my work can be appreciated. By promoting my studio and engaging with the community, I hope to share my artistic vision and contribute to the city’s dynamic art landscape.

What are you most proud of or excited about in your work?

What I am most proud of in my work is that it is a genuine expression of my social and spiritual feelings. Each piece reflects my personal vision through the use of color, concept, and visual harmony. I love seeing how people enjoy and understand my work, and I am especially excited by the sensitivity that is created in viewers as they engage with my pieces. Witnessing how my art resonates with and touches people is one of the greatest satisfactions I experience as an artist.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

I would love for people to know that my studio is open for visits, where they can experience and share my work in a personal and welcoming environment. I want people to understand my story and the vision behind each piece, and to have the opportunity to connect directly with the art and passion I put into every creation. My goal is to build a community of admirers and collaborators who appreciate and engage with my work.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
“I know this might be a common response, but I want to give credit to the two most important women in my life.

First, my mother,Elsa Claudia Hinestrosa , who has been by my side throughout my life, always encouraging and supporting me. I am grateful to her for bringing me into this world, always offering a smile and wise advice.

The second woman is my daughter, Arielle Kohn Buono ,who has given me the opportunity to be a father and to see the cycle of life from a different perspective. She makes me laugh and helps me see the world in a more real and meaningful way.”
